It had to happen. One of our running gags is making a feature appearance on a TV show!

On February 23 (March 6 in Canada), The MythBusters will try to escape from a Mexican jail using only...

Salsa! :D

I have no idea where this myth comes from, but I'll definitely be watching!

All that's left is a special on silica gel and we've had it made! Maybe Adam will try to eat some of it... :)

BTW, on February 16 (February 27 in Canada), they'll test out the "Brown Noise" theory as depicted in an episode of South Park. Adam will be wearing the adult diapers.

Great show. And what a great job these two guys have. They get to make stuff, then blow it up. :)

And the occasional dose of pain! Anyone see Adam get shot with a paintball gun a couple times right in the belly button? Man that has to smart.

The show is great, but lately it seems it's been doing nothing but re-hash episodes: modified reruns. They make less episodes in a season than South Park or Ren & Stimpy.

Just finished watching the "Brown Note" episode. They busted the myth but it was interesting to see the hardware used to do it. 24 speakers in 4 cabinets, looked to be about 18" woofers and 25,000 watts of power. This is the subwoofer setup used for a rock concert! They played tones from 5 to 100 Hz at sound levels of up to 150 db. This show wil be rebroadcast Feb 17 and 20.

I saw a show on the history channel that talked about subsonic weapons. The one that was shown was more of a subwoofer type thing (wave generator) mounted in the end of a tube type thing so that the effect is aimable/concentrated.

I watch mythbusters all the time but I don't think they did this one correctly.

PS. The girl in the water torture bit is way cute. Who else wanted to rescue her?

Mark, I didn't see the show, but if you are referring to Kari then, :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

There was an episode where they were testing out suction on a womans behind. They needed to scan someones butt into the computer (to make a mold) and Kari wore this tight/white/spandex thing. Holy Smokes! (drool)

Did the History Channel show say that it worked? Could have been something that sorta worked, like how everyone around the MB's subs started feeling a bit queazy but it didn't make anyone unload their bowels.

But it wouldn't be the first time that the MB's did something incorrectly, not completely thorough. They've revisted a few myths before. I can't remember if any myths got reversed.

I was someone that first complained about the new people vs just being about the mythbusters, but I take that ALL back thanks to Kari. :D

I don't watch the show regularly but the new people were a nice surprise. Kari is definitely cute, but so is Scottie Chapman, especially if you're into the ink. The first ep I saw the women in was the one with exploding tattoos and Scottie got volunteered to go in the MRI. I think I'll be changing my Replay to record more eps now :)

I didn't see the show about the low freq sound, but I remember reading an article about "infra-sound" in Science and Mechanics magazine in the late 60's... wish I had kept some of those issues. The article said that weapons were being developed that produced sub-sonic waves that could be deadly at high amplitudes. If you look up "infra sound" on Google, you'll find a few interesting articles on the subject. I think the frequency used is the 8 to 10 Hz range.

I'll try to catch the repeat of Mythbusters, also need to see Kari.

Cement truck rocked!

And am I the only one who thinks there might be some animocity between Adam and Jaime? Somehow I cant shake the feeling that Jaime just looks at Adam as some moron half the time.

There does seem to be more competitiveness and animocity between the two lately. Could be real, or just something to add more 'drama' to the show to fit in with American Chopper or any of the other Discovery reality shows. I still get a chuckle everytime Adam makes a big walrus like mustache with his fingers and says some Jaimeism. :D

Looks like next weeks episode is 'exploding port-a-potty.' Guess they will be blowing up more crap. :b

I hope the increase in snide remarks are just for the camera. If they are not real then I wish they would cut back on them and if they are real then I don't think the show will last much longer. Having two Jamies or two Adams would not be as good as one of each with their diametrically opposed approaches to a problem. The show is not good because of conflict, it is good because of the ingenuity of the solutions and myths that they attempt to bust. Plus lots of explosions and burned hair.

There is one thing that gives me hope that the increase is made up. It is clear from the narration and clips that some myth busting has gone really bad and gotten really ugly but they have never shown it. If they wanted conflict they could just show either one of them going off in a tirade of profanity, which I am sure has happened many times.
