So "The Batman", which (as far as I know) JUST finished airring its first season for the first time is already getting a volume 1 DVD release
It doesn't sound like a release similar to the "Batman: The Animated Series" releases. It sounds more like the "Teen Titans : Divide and Conquer" release, which was not a complete season. I'm guessing "The Batman" release will be 4-5 episodes on one disc (hence the "Season One Part One" title).
Plus, a "season" of "The Batman" isn't quite as large as a season of BTAS. If they are considering what's been aired so far as a complete season, it's pretty small. According to The World's Finest site (
there are 13 episodes in the first season. Only nine have actually aired.
There seem to be quite a few other animated Batman series. How are all these connected?
The current "The Batman" series isn't connected to the previous series at all (and isn't anywhere near as good IMHO).
"Batman The Animated Series" and "The Adventures of Batman and Robin" are essentially the same series. Some of the same episodes have aired under each title. "The New Batman Adventures" is pretty much in the same series as well - they redesigned the characters, but otherwise, it exists in the same "world".
And do the Justice League and Teen Titan series use the same mythology, or is each series a reboot with new versions of the characters?
Justice League is within the same continuity as Batman The Animated Series/The Adventures of Batman and Robin/The New Batman Adventures and Superman The Animated Series. They have even referred to events that occurred in the previous series'.
Teen Titans is totally out there on it's own. Completely different style and tone.
