This might be a dumb question, but is it ok that my audio equipment is exposed to three hours of direct sunlight every morning? The inconvenience for me is that I have trouble seeing what each piece says (e.g., what radio station the tuner is tuned to) when the sun's right on it, but I use the remote mostly anyway. But my concern is whether over time the sun will discolor the black finish or anything like that?

I guess given enough years the sun could fade the equipment, but for just 3 hours of morning sunlight a day, I doubt it matters. You'll upgrade equipment long before that little bit of light fades it.

You could always install some window film that would block out the UV rays.

Or just tell the equipment to 'adapt, get used to it'.
