Time for a new receiver

Denon AVR-1905
Onkyo TX-SR602
Yamaha HTR-5760

All in the same price range, all 7.1
Any other suggestions or reveiws.

Do I even need 7.1?

I have this receiver and couldn't be happier. The only stigma is that it doesn't upconvert to component. For that feature, you have to go up to the 5790.

It isn't really a question of necessity than it simply is that most new receivers support this. There is the option of only hooking up one back surround for 6.1 EX/ES titles, but I find that having two speakers spread apart for the surround back sounds more spatial.

YMMV. Enjoy!

For about the same price look at the Pioneer vsx1014 this reciever is about the same price as the yamaha 5760 but the pioneer is better with more power and options.
