Hi The discussion on the virtues of the SVS Ultra versus the SVS Plus drivers raised another point in my mind on subwoofer sound quality. The question of digital versus analogue subwoofer amplifiers. :b Given the very narrow bandwidth and low frequncies involved. And the difficulty in recognising distortion (or even coloration) in good quality subwoofers in a typical living room. Is it possible to distinguish between digitally powered rather than analogue powered subwoofer amplifiers? Do we have any opinions on the effect of digital amplifiers on the higher frequencies of the complete system? Where a digital subwoofer amplifier is used with an analogue amplified speaker system. Is there really a downside with digital amplification? Regards ChrisBee
