Hi,

This is Dr. Anthony Rosalia VP of Plasmadocs.com the newest HT sponsor to the HT Forum. We are always looking to improve our offerings to HT Forum readers and cater to their needs.

We would like some honest feedback about our site, your likes and dislikes, what you see as our strong points and what you see as our negatives. We want to make up combo deals that will be the most appealing to our customers.

What would you like to see Plasmadocs.com sell if it isn't already listed? How do you find our prices, our policies and our products listed? As we are a small dedicated company that wants to be your number one source for home theater info and sales, we would like to custom tailor ourselves to our target markets and make the absolute best products available to our loyal patrons.

I look forward to hearing anything you might have to say.

My thanks for any responses.

Anthony:

You have some great prices for sure. Hopefully our members can take advantage of your package deals. Can you put something together if call and say they are from HTF?

Sure, we always give HTF members preferential treatment. We can make packages of any size with any equipment and make dream systems for just about anyone. There are tons of stuff also that are not listed as we are always obtaining new vendors and equipment. We have 23 vendors right now of just plasma displays alone and close to 100 models, 9 different projector manufacturers and over 20 different projector models available and this is only the 16:9 units. We probably have over 25 or more of the 4:3 units that can do double duty as well. We have the latest LCOS rear projector TVs from JVC and Philips and even the latest Infocus 61" DLP rear projector TVs at 6.5" in depth that can hang on the wall. HTF members can email us for a quote or give us a quick ring before they buy from anywhere else. We will see if we can make a sweeter value that they cannot buy from anywhere else. Because we are an Authorized Dealer for all our products, we are not allowed to list price or have minimum advertise pricing for some manufacturers to maintain our status. If HTF members contact us we can give them much better deals.

We even sell 500' bulk wire, all types of home theater installation equipment, multiple static, tilt and arm mounts, RF distribution blocks, wall switches, multi room receivers, 12 channel home amps, X-10 controllers, computer audio streamers, speaker stands and furniture, in-wall/ceiling 2 and 3 way speakers...even in wall sub-woofers, HDTV antennas and HDTV set top boxes. We even have over 25 different remote controls from 8 brands and over 25 different DVD recorders. We also will be coming out with an HTPC Line.

We are just 1 call or email away to check our entire inventory and get our best pricing and HTF VIP treatment for all your members.

warranty information on your site would be great. It would be helpful as well to list if your and authorized dealer of each product.

We are authorized for each and every product we sell. It is posted numerous times all over our website: in the policies section, the conditions of use page, on the front page of the store, in our featured merchants section, and even on some individual pages. Where else do you think we should post it for better exposure Posted Image? Any help would be graciously appreciated.

Which information on warranty information are you indicating? We have warranty information posted on each and every item to my knowledge. Did you have a specific question to a specific item or a general question? All our warranties follow exactly that which is given to us via our manufactures as they honor the warranty. Since we are an authorized dealer, we don't have our "own" warranty policy like gray market stores that destroy the serial numbers. We are a 100% legit place with low overhead so we can make incredible deals, and have a spotless BBB and Dunn and Bradstreet record.

Thanks so much for your input. We appreciate it.

Sorry I guess I didn't scroll down far enough to see the sign on your main page. I was just clicking though some of the products and some of them did list warranty information and some did not. Particularly the Denon Avr 1083. I also went to denon.com and your not listed as an authorized e-tailor. http://www.usa.denon...s.asp?l=2#ETAIL

Some of the products (like the scalers) don't have the "more info" link so you cant actually see the warranty information, unless I am missing something.

I think you really need to contact Denon and get your site listed as an authorized dealer. It would just make people more comfortable I think. Then again I am very mistrusting by nature. Posted Image

Denon does not list us as an authorized consumer electronics dealer (http://www.usa.denon.com) because we do not sell consumer versions of Denon equipment such as the 3805 or 2805 models. We only sell the higher line Denon-Marantz PRO models (http://www.d-mpro.com/users/folder.asp) most with built in RS-232 Crestron interfaces for whole house integration. They will be controllable from our new HTPC's that we will be coming out with. These are not part of the Denon consumer line. Many do not know about the AVR-1083P for example but they are basically denon consumer units with added features not found in the consumer line.

Anyone who is on-line who sells the Denon line cannot sell the consumer versions unless they are on that list you saw. All of those companies are multi-million dollar giants that have been around for years. Most have to sell thousands of units or be invited to sell those units by the company directly. Anyone who is on-line who claims to be an authorized consumer electronics dealer and is not on that list is completely unauthorized and will be sued. Many companies do not list their "unauthorized status" and don't even list a warranty as they do not have one, or even worse they sidestep the issue saying that the the item includes a USA warranty. What they don't tell you is that Denon will not honor it. Many obtain them from gray market sources and destroy the serial numbers on the units to prevent tracking back to the disreputable distributor who sold it to them. Denon is VERY, VERY serious about unauthorized selling. All of our equipment is the Denon-Marantz PRO Line you will find at http://www.d-mpro.com/users/folder.asp. Most if not all of our Denon and Marantz equipment is sent DIRECTLY from the Denon warehouse to the consumer that will prove our authenticity Posted Image.

It is hard being the new kid on the block and for people to trust you. We thought long and hard before we set out to cater to a better clientele base of people. It is because of our integrity that we were the only company trusted enough to sell many brands online, like our new Ascend Acoustics brand we will have up in combination with the brand new, category crushing SVS PB10-ISD sub. We are the only company that has this combination and we feel it is an incredible mating at that. It is because of our integrity that many have allowed us to sell their equipment online as we are a bunch of enthusiast doctors and not some riff-raff selling gray market items. Posted Image Ask any of our customers and they will tell you, we bend over backwards to help and make the customer happy. Most of our sales have been word of mouth and our catering to the great people of the HTF. We have lots planned in the future. Stay tuned! Posted Image

To answer your questions, the Denon units have 1 yr warranty with extended warranties available from Philips up to 5 yrs. for some reson I also cannot find it in the PDF files but it is listed on the receiver's page at the bottom. The Focus Enhancement Scalers have a 2 yr warranty (see page 7 of the manual). This is also listed on the bottom of the Scaler's pages.

If there are any questions we have zero problems providing contact information of our distributors who will verify our standing in a particular company. Some of our manufacturers are on our bulletin board system to answer your questions directly about their products. We even have our own representatives with some companies set up just for us. I often talk personally to the owners of our exclusive equipment and have excellent relationships with many of them as do many here at the HTF. References are not a problem should you require. Even though we may not be listed as an "authorized" dealer on some company's websites, many are putting us on a probationary period to see if we meet their criteria and are monitoring us. Many times, only their very best and highest volume dealers are listed on their website to obtain traffic from those sales. Many times we have to adhere to MAP pricing guideline and even not be able to sell an item directly online that requires people to call to obtain prices and sales. Only that way can we gather enough trust and build relationships to the point we will be allowed to sell directly online with some manufacturers. It is a rough game of integrity out there with many companies disallowing online sales due to poor retailers selling things too cheap and beguiling the public. We are not one of them.

We ask that you be careful wherever you buy to make sure you are buying from legitimate dealers because some items and dealers may not be as they seem. Being a pillar of trust in the HT community is hard. Only with time and familiarity will most understand. We just hope many are not burned on the way by bad and dishonest retailers that make our lives miserable. We are trying to prevent that with our "buyer alert section" in our bbs.

Hope we answered your questions. Posted Image Happy Halloween...BOOO! Posted Image

I went to look at DVD players and line conditioners (just to see what you had). Only 2 Denon DVD players were listed and no line conditioners. But it says you carry Panamax and Monster line conditioners, and also Marantz, Panasonic, Sony, DVD players. ?? Do you also carry Pioneer DVD players? You do carry displays by them.
If it's not worth waiting until the last minute to do, then it's not worth doing.

Hi Kevin
Yes we have access to a ton of stuff, just no time to put them all up lol. We are a small store of devoted doctor enthusiasts with busy lives lol. Last time I checked we had some 11,000 items at our disposal. (No kidding) from every type of electronic device from 7.1 megapixel cameras to MP3 players to car stereo. I used to have a booming stereo in the car a while ago. We will only be putting up anything that relates to AV on our site, but we have sold completely unrelated stuff because we had great prices. We know about all that stuff too. I have been into photography and computers now for 20 years. I used to program back in the day before I went to med school. I started building my own computer over 10 years ago. I love electronics. We will be coming out with the HTPC I hope in a week before the Christmas Rush hits full swing.

I digress. To answer your question.

We have the following DVD/DVDR brands with a TON of models.

Denon Pro
Marantz
Toshiba
JVC
Sony
Panasonic
Sharp
Philips

On the low end
Go-video
Sylvania
Aspire - cheapie stuff
Coby - yeach! Sratch that - I'd shoot myself if I sold that to you lol.

We also have the amazing DIVX players from KISS
DP-600
DP-608
DP-558

We do sell the Pro verions of the Pioneer line

LX1 DVD burner $4442 list
LXI/Dual dvd burner $4970 list
DVD-V5000 $375 list
DVD-v7400 $999 list

We tried to sell Pioneer Consumer line but you have to be a multi-million dollar company for these guys even to consider you. Since we are a small store starting out, we have run into difficulty selling popular brands as they are very tightly regulated and not permitted on the Internet unless you are like Best Buy, Crutchfield and Circuit City and the like. As we grow I am sure we will be able to offer those things. Right now, we have to be happy with what we have as an authorized dealer, mind our P's and Q's and we will gain authorization. Its hard being the new kid on the block. Since we are an Internet only company Pioneer requires you to have a brick and mortar store first THEN you can advertise online... problem for us. We are just trying to get up the most common stuff and its hard because all of us work other jobs. Posted Image

Give us a holler on a specific piece of equipment and we will get you a price for the time being until we can get this all up. Posted Image Most people come for a TV and leave with like a ton of stuff they never even knew we had at an amazing bundled price. Most just give us a list and we track it down and give them a bundled price that most love. Many prices we can't list or allow even to advertise about because they are Internet restricted. Since we follow MAP pricing on Panamax and Monster, give us an email and we will talk #'s.

Shop around get your best prices and email us to see if we can't make a better deal for you. Posted Image It's free and we won't pester you. We are now in the process working with some people setting up whole house systems. They are just too cool. Perhaps I can make some of our prior customers post some good comments about us. If there is anyone out there listening, just chime in! Posted Image

Thanks for contacting us Kevin and even if you don't buy a single thing, have a great Holiday. We just love talking to other AV nuts like ourselves at the very least. If we don't have something that you really want we will send you in the right direction where you can get it at a good price. Email us for any reason.

Thanks again and thanks everyone for your support. Posted Image We love the HTF!

One other suggestion, you could get rid of that initial pg to your web site. Just go right to the shopping pg.

You have a PM. Posted Image

Ditch the splash page you have at the start and the flash site. If people don't know what type of computer they have they my not enter your site. Also there are to many choices at the start and people that use broadband use a cable or DLS modem so what link should they click the broadband link or the modem link???? Keep it simple.

Thanks guys. At the next re-write those things are history. We just wanted to provide a little pizazz, something different, and didn't want to bog down the modem users computer with big files. Ever been to Pioneer's website? They force you to load a flash animation but give you no way to not load it so your computer just hangs and hangs with dialup. We wanted to take advantage of broadband yet still offer modem options. We originally designed it as a broadband only setup then realized people might get frustrated with having to wait. This way people can skip the intro and skip the broadband with click. If people just want to go to the store they can easily just bookmark it. The design was a little backward but will be fixed. Live and learn.

We appreciate your input and we do listen Posted Image Thanks

Anthony, it would be nice to see altitude rating on applicable plasma panels and/or make a special section listing higher altitude displays (6000-10000ft range). Since LCD panels are not altitude dependant, I would love to see the newer Sharp and Samsung 1080i/p compatible LCD panels listed.

We have altitude sets, just we have not posted them. I can send you a private list come Monday after I confirm with our distributors Posted Image. Someone had called about the 60" Zenith we had on sale for a Colorado resident, was that you? Posted Image. I remember I told the gentleman that I had to check but he never left a number. I found out some 10 minutes later that a unit was available but some $2-3000 more than one in stock bringing the price up to about $9999 shipped I think which is still an amazing deal.

Off the top of my head we have the Sony PFM42V1A 42" EDTV in Black and Silver that come to mind. NEC makes some high altitude sets I believe. Many of them are special order. Not many people have inquired lately, honestly. I will have to put up some more info about the sets that we have but manufacturers usually have specific special order models for sale not normally stocked.

We deal with many distributors and I just mailed about 4 of them right now for confirmation on stock on hand and special order items. I will have a list for your shortly and will make notation of the ones listed Posted Image We have over 100 plasma sets for sale and most aren't listed. So if you want a specific piece of merchandise let us know Posted Image

Attention HTF!!

It has been brought to my attention that our status with Panamax is in question (we are not listed on their site as an official authorized dealer). We were under the assumption that we were based on our distributors. Until such time as we resolve this issue, we cannot guarantee our authorized status with regards to Panamax equipment. We though you deserved to know. I am sure we are fine, but truth in disclosure is necessary.

For this reason we are suspending any future sales with Panamax until this issue is resolved. Our apologies to those who planned on purchasing Panamax equipment through us and we offer monster and furman items of comparable quality in lieu of Panamax sales.

Our apologies for the inconvenience but it was bound to happen given the nature of this business. This is a voluntary act of good will rather than being forced by the company...we just thought you would like to know.

"Integrity above all else."

Thanks HTF we love you!!

Your web page is way to confusing to look at. Definitely loose the splash screen and go straight to the store. Loose the pizzazz, and opt for K.I.S.S (Keep it simple stupid). I have a 4 Mbit/s connection and have no problem downloading pizzazz. But your page has a little to much pizzazz and no Info.

You have way too many boxes with pictures of stuff I don’t want to see. There are two boxes of specials or combos on every link – loose this.

Plasmadocs.com suggests you are the kings of plasma. Looking at your page I only saw 10. There are so many other boxes and such I didn’t realize there were two more pages of plasma’s.

You say you have all these brand of DVD players with tons of models- your web page shows two models.

Cables – your web page = none

Line conditioners - your web page = none

Screens - your web page = none

Media Boxes - your web page = none

If you want us to buy products from you at great prices we have to know what you’re selling. We at HTF (52,000 members) know we can contact you, but the rest of the Internet (201 million in the US) doesn’t know this.

Andy thanks so much for your reply. We are trying to rectify this problem as we have to be selective when you sell so many products. We are working hard to post lists at the HTF shortly of with a huge list of products and prices along with some call for price items we can't list. We do not claim to be the king of plasmas, just have incredible diversity, great products and exclusive merchandise with high value bundles we will be shortly introducing. As an authorized store we cannot compete with multi-million dollar stores with the lowest prices on the web. We make up for price with value and product selection and exclusive high quality items.

It all boils down to time for us not being able to put up all the items quick enough. We underestimated the amount of work required and overestimated our ability to get it up quickly. When you have a selection of over 11,000 products to choose from, its hard to pick the best or where to concentrate.

I will be putting up a big list tonight on the HTF of a good selection of plasmas, RPTV's, LCD's, DVD players, DVD recorders, Tivo, Replay TV, DVHS, DVD changers, receivers, remote controls, speakers, and more if I can get to it like screens, cables, extended warranties. We are still working on the media boxes.

Thanks guys making us focus more to what is important. When we have some time we will redesign the site after the holidays and convert it more into the slick corporate look with a sprinkle of flair. As you say, too much is too much. I will kill some of the specials and stuff on the bottom. Many have said it is too busy. Thanks for taking an interest and an honest critique the site. We appreciate it.

There should be further search options to quickly narrow-down your selection of displays. Such as by resolution (480, 720, 1080), or by screen size. Currently there just seems to be all the available stres jumbled together.

Looks like you are a great company to do business with.

The website looks too cluttered and 'WHOA!' - Crutchfield is perfect in terms of their site setup. Clean, clear pages, tons of information, etc.

For example, upon going to the speaker section, it takes a minuite to understand what is going on.

Maybe have the brand links there (people who know what they want can go right to it), but have categories so you can browse products easier.

The detailed information (when you select a product) seems kinda unorganized. Again, Crutchfield is a great template for this. They have a TON of info on the products, but it is clean and clear.

Keep it up!!!
