Does "The Girl Next Door" Unrated/Rated Contain the Same Extras? (1 Viewer)

I was looking at the two versions of "The Girl Next Door" today. The Rated version lists a commentary and trivia track as extras while the Unrated version lists some of its own extras but no mention of the Commentary and Trivia tracks. Can anyone confirm if the Unrated version does indeed have these extras?

Thanks, I wish they used more space for a full special features listing than a partial slipcover that is not even covering anything racy.

So what is the difference between them then?

Oh and what is "unrated" in the "unrated" edition.

IIRC this was like rated G or something. was there any nudity in the theatrical version? caught my interest but the wife and I never got around to seeing this in theatres.

I have not seen it yet, but from what I read, the differences are mainly the usual extended bits of nudity.

The Girl Next Door was a hard R in theaters.

The Unrated Cut has the following additions/changes:
- The porno Eli watches is more "explicit."
- Additional footage after Eli shows Matt the tape.
- Additional nudity in the strip club.
- The "lap dance" scene has the strippers naked, not clothed.
- Additional dialog from Kelly after beating up Matt.

That's it. Not much at all.

Correct me if I am wrong but I avoided this in theaters because of no nudity. Still no Elisha nude on this DVD, that is too bad.

She looks damn good in in, though! I always thought she was kinda cute on 24, but she's a full fledged knockout in this flick.

It should not be avoided because of a lack of sex and nudity, it should be avoided because of the quality of the movie. :) I kid, I kid. I liked the movie, but frankly the determing factor in me buying a movie is not the amount nudity but rather how it is as a whole.

"Girl" was victim of Fox not knowing how to market the film.

This by far is one of the suprise films of 2004.

It is a very good blend of "Risky Business" and any John Hughes flick.

If you didn't support this film in theatres, here's you chance as the film was pretty good.

I'm sick of unrated covers implying things about movies that aren't true. This cover implises Elisha Cuthbert nudity and Eurotrip implies Michelle Trachtenberg nudity. Neither delivers.

I wonder if they cut it like Kirsten did in Crazy/Beautiful. I read a article with her where she said she had done nudity for this film.

THis is a broad sex comedy. There's no way they'd nudity of their main star because it didn't fit the plot or tone or something.

I too heard it was a remake of Risky Business and for that reason alone I'll be checking it out.

JonZ, they did not "cut" Cuthbert's nudity, they never filmed any nudity. But she's still kind of cute, so, and remember Rebecca DeMornay was only glimpsed as nude in Risky Business (as the wind blew leaves into the living room where Tom Cruise was waiting for her). So nudity isn't essential.

Still, it is odd how these movies may be giving young teens the impression that breasts all have implants (since the only nudity films like Pie and GND ever show is of strip club dancers). At some point, the main actresses need to realize that not showing their breasts is harming their young audience.

...Yeah, that logic will work.

Hey don't be downplaying Rebecca DeMornay's nudity in "Risky Business." That was full-on, glorious nudity and represented a key moment in my puberty. (Okay, the scene was a bit dim, but still...)

Jason, I put this movie (and that scene) as one of the higlights of my puberty. I still have a special place in my heart for Rebecca Demornay because of it.

I was surprised by it; caught it on DVD tonight as a rental from NetFlix. Loved it. Loved it a lot. Will probably move to a "buy" It's the kind of "cute" watchable film that I enjoy.. and some of the comedy; what I call "squirm in your seat" comedy was riotous :)

Nobody has mentioned the scene in the limo at the end where Elisha makes love to Matt in the unrated version. The director said he was so glued to her performance of making love that he forgot to call "cut". :)

Also not mentioned yet: several small but important edits that have been restored to the final cut that the studio requested be removed from the theatrical release, according to the director's commentary.
