Bear with me while I run this concept into the ground.

Since I only have 30 titles, the time has come for YOU the fan to contribute! First come, first serve - Lew, Bill, George, Steve, Nick, Arman, John or whoever pick a Disney/Miramax title not already in this tournament and experience the glory of standing proudly above your fellow man while your title competes against my illustrious collection in a thumb-wrestling steel cage deathmatch!

2 slots are open. An independent auditing firm has been hired in case of ties.

That would spoil all the fun Lew. (plus that would mean I'd have to type out 30 movie titles). Just throw some out there and I'll tell you if one gets in. Posted Image

Belle de jour
Frida
Pulp Fiction
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Three Colors Trilogy
City of God
Chunking Express
The Quiet American
Dumbo

edit: Nick acted while I was considering.

Nick, Three Colours is already in.

Lew gets pick 1, Belle De Jour, which I refused to buy because of the reports of awful PQ and I'd hoped a better disc would come along. I have some of those Lew. Frida and City of God were films I liked but not enough to own. I'm not a big classic Disney fan so I don't have Dumbo. And I didn't care for The Quiet American.

And I'll grudgingly give #2 to Steve with Amelie, though I was tempted to skip you entirely with those selections. Posted Image Cold Mountain??! Blecch Posted Image

Too late everyone else. Slingblade is already in as is Pulp Fiction. Arman, I have a few on your list and a couple of others I'd own if my budget was unlimited. Bill, I have nary a one of yours and of the 4 I've seen, I wouldn't want to own any. (I suppose eXistenZ would be the closest to a "buy" from that list).

Festivies commence tomorrow.

Well, I liked it. Posted Image

Admittedly, it's neither on par with Minghella's The English Patient, nor is it close to being as good as Charles Frazier's novel.

I enjoyed it as well. However it is Minghella's weakest effort so far.
