I don't have Satellite radio, nor do I intend to purchase it anytime soon.

But, I want to know if what I'm listening to on my Motorola digital cable is close to the clarity you guys got via Sat.

I just discovered this, I guess I always knew it was there, but am fed up with 31 years of FM static.

My system is really rockin', and my JM Labs bring the strings and brass right in front of me.

Thanks in advance.

PS- I'm not concerned with a zillion stations, merely a technical question regarding signal quality. It's flawless to my ears, it's the latest Motorola box with optical outs.

What you are getting on digital cable is
superior to what the satellite radio companies
are offering.

The audio quality of XM and SIRIUS are about equal
to MP3. The TOSLINK output is a noticeable improvement
but still is short of CD quality.

The disadvantage of digital cable is that you
can't take it with you on the road/beach like XM
or SIRIUS nor is the selection of programming
nearly as good.

Aye,

and thanks. So far, my intuition has been paying off.
Check out my recent post about speaker cables too.

Thank you, and my month long road trip will be accompanied by my beloved Keg! (How's that for unlimited?)
