Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including (or the ones Dave tells me he's looking for ;o)). In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. So, please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like Dave & I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the standard Roundup: they set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. When it comes to Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Mileage May Vary".

**BE CAREFUL! The Big Bounce AND Starsky and Hutch are available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one!!!

--Amazon is still featuring free shipping on orders over $25. Restrictions apply.

--Best Buy is offering a deal, this week, if you buy both Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights ($19.99) and Dirty Dancing (UE)($14.99). Get both movies for $25. That’s a $10 savings.

--Best Buy is also offering 2/$25 if you buy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen ($17.99) and Disney’s The Parent Trap (14.99). Both are Lindsey Lohan movies.

--Circuit City is offering the same kind of deal on the Dirty Dancing movies. Buy the UE of DD ($12.99) and DD: HN ($17.99) and save $5. Both movies for $26.

--Circuit City is also offering a $3 savings if you buy both Starsky & Hutch ($15.99) and The Big Bounce ($19.99) this week. Get both movies for $33.

Sorry if this disappoints, but I will be unable to post next week's RoundUp until sometime Sunday evening.

Thanks for understanding.
Well, it disappoints, we understand, and we also appreciate you letting us know in advance. Hell, you might even want to post the thread early on, simply with the message that the content won't be coming until that evening, for folks who don't see your message here. Otherwise, you know there's eventually going to be a post by someone else asking where the roundup is. Posted Image

I agree with George's comments. Its great that you had the thoughtfulness to warn us that the update was going to be late, but I only found it by thinking to check this thread. Making a "placeholder" thread with the comments that the update is coming later would probably mean that more people would know.

Keep up the great work, Mike!

Thanks, Patrick!

For what its worth, guys & gals, here's the RoundUp. Posted Image

If there's gonna be a delay in the future, I'll start a new thread so everybody's looking in the right place to know what's going on. With some summer traveling, there just might be a few more times that things are help up a tad. Thanks again for understanding.

I second that!

The only release of interest this week, though not listed, is the Kino Video Titanic (Germany, 1943). Is anyone familiar with this? It may be a blind buy if anyone can convince me! If anyone sees it in any B&M's, let me know...

You might want to take the latest victim of Columbia Tri-Star's misguided support for Pan & Scan titles off of the list - Castle Keep. ( There is a thread over in Software about the title, and Glenn Erickson has reviewed it as well over at his DVD Savant web site. ) Thanks as always for the effort in putting together the weekly list!

Millennium Season 1
and two Criterions ( Early Summer and Port of Shadows )

for me this week.

- Walter.

Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

Thanks, Walter!

Well this week is special for me..its my birthday (turn 22 this Saturday). And because of that, I have some extra money. Too bad the only thing I was going to get (Aqua Teen volume two) is being bought as a present by my brother (he buying Sealab, so I will hold off on it for a while). Oh well, I will probably get some dvds and games I been meaning to get (but with a budget in mind). Thanks for the round up Mike, and feel free to take as much you want to make this. Same with Dave too, whenever he decides to make it again.
I need a new signature.

Thanks as always, Mike.

I know the Roundup is for B&M deals, but Deep Discount DVD has "Boomtown" Season One significantly cheaper than what's listed here: $26.59. IMO, that's an unbeatable deal on a great season of TV.

Three truths about movies, as noted by Roger Ebert:

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

* No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.

* No good movie is depressing, all bad movies are depressing.

I'm pretty sure Starsky & Hutch (the movie) is $9.99 after rebate at fye this week. It's been on their upcoming prerelease ad at the front of the store.
