Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including (or the ones Dave tells me he's looking for ;o)). In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. So, please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like Dave & I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the standard Roundup: they set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. When it comes to Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Mileage May Vary".

**BE CAREFUL! 50 First Dates AND Tupac: Resurrection are available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one!!!

--Best Buy is also offering a deal to save $10 when you buy any 2 seasons of The Simpsons, Family Guy or Futurama. Simpsons: S1, 2 & 4 = $29.99. Simpsons: S3 = $39.99. Futurama: S1 = $29.99. Family Guy: S1&2 = $35.99.

--Best Buy says you can get a 2/$20 deal if you buy 50 First Dates and either The Wedding Singer OR Mr. Deeds. Or, you can get a 3/$25 deal if you buy all three!

--Best Buy will cut you a deal if you buy BOTH seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Each is $29.99. Save $10!

Thanks as always, Mike.

I saw a lot of the catalog titles (and Touching The Void) out early at a local retailer yesterday. I noticed that Live Nude Girls was "formatted to fit your screen". DVD Empire confirms it's 1.33:1. Looks like a non-OAR release.

Three truths about movies, as noted by Roger Ebert:

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

* No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.

* No good movie is depressing, all bad movies are depressing.

Dead Like Me

I would get the fourth season of the Simpson, but I did not get the third season yet, and I am not paying 40 dollars for a show that I have seen the reruns about a billion times in the last decade. Still...the 30 dollar season four is tempting since it will be fourty as well next week. Posted Image

I might end up picking the six season of Buffy while I can get it for 45 dollars (at Target), since I am nearing completion on my current hour long format show.
I need a new signature.

Simpsons: S3 = $39.99 + Simpsons: S3 = $29.99 - $10 for buying both = $60.00

Patrick, are you sure "once upon a time in the west" is included in the 3 for $20 deal?
Thats almost too good to be true. I bought the new 5.1 version six months ago for $19.99. What an awesome movie!
If that price is right, I'll buy 3 more for gifts.

All TV for me as well this week. "Dead Like Me" S1 & "Curb Your Enthusiasm" S2 are on their way from Amazon, and I'l grab "Simpsons" S4 from Best Buy for $30.

I want Spartan, Touching The Void, & The Station Agent, but I can wait for the inevitable price reductions - a strategy I am employing more & more lately.

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

I'll confirm - that one opened my eyes as well when I saw it in the BB flyer this morning. Killer deal.

Just Monk for me.

Might get Dead Like Me, but I've seen it. Spartan also looked decent, but again - have yet to see it.

Next week is pretty light as well. Only Reno 911! if I remember correctly...
