I was wondering if there are any good shows/series available about American mob history. I am particularly interested in the prohibition era and Chicago. I think the History Channel has done some good stuff in this area, but I'm just not sure about DVD availability. Anybody know?

There are definitely some History Channel shows - go to www.aetv.com click on "store" and do a search for "Mafia" and there are 3 dvd sets that come up: Target Mafia: The History of the Mob in America (2 discs, $14.95), Godfathers Collection (2 discs, $29.95), and The World History of Organized Crime (2 discs, $39.95)

If you do a search for 'prohibition' or 'Chicago' you'll probably turn up some more.

(edited to add) Obviously, the branded-packaged titles will be cheaper at other on-line vendors, but the generic-packaged dvds won't be available on other sites, so the A&E site is the place to start your search.
