Will Reboot Season 3 Be Reissued? (1 Viewer)

I guess the subject line says it all. Does ADV still own the release rights to season 3, and if so, has anyone heard any rumblings of a reissue? I'm trying to decide if I should try to hunt down the rare (OOP?) single-disc releases, or if I can just wait for a boxed-set re-release, like they've done for Farscape, etc.

Thanks for any info!

I think that ADV's rights have either expired already, or will be expiring soon. You know, you could probably just email ADV ( www.advfilms.com ) and ask what the situation is and they might just respond and tell you.

I've held off buying the third season because I'm still holding out hope that the entire series will be released at some point (by whoever has the rights).

The "fourth season" (AKA the two 2-hour movies, depending on whether you saw them in the US or Canada) was apparently out just last week.

DeepDiscountDVD has it listed as The Reboot Animated Movies, and is selling it for $13.20!

... waitaminute, that just might be crazy enough to work! :)

Seriously, I never actually considered contacting ADV directly, but it sounded like a good idea when you mentioned it. I don't want to quote the response verbatim, but I'm hoping it's acceptable to summarize the major points.

According to the customer service person from ADV:

- ADV does still hold the rights to season 3.
- It is not currently in production, and they don't have any stock remaining.

And this one I will quote:
"Hopefully this is something that will be made available again one day. "

Ummm... yeah! ;) But they imply there are no specific plans for season 3 of Reboot at present.

Sounds like they might be considering Reboot's potential as a "brick" (multi-disc keepcase) box set. ADV periodically looks back at their older titles to see if they can squeeze out just a little more in the sales department.
