Hi.

I would like you list your top 5 films that you would love to see on DVD. I will kick off with my all time favourite movie fire in the sky, that hopefully will get a decent dvd make over.

1 = Fire In the Sky (Hopefully a Collectors Edition)

2= King Kong (1933 SE)

3= King Kong (1976) SE + TV Version

4= Goodfellas SE

5= Casino SE

1. Around the World in Eighty Days
2. Abel Gance's Napoleon (prefferably the 5 1/2 hr. version at 22fps, with both the Carl Davis and Carmine Coppola scores)
3. The Thief and the Cobbler: Restored Version (Disney supposedly has this finished, but who knows?)
4. Harold Lloyd films (Esp. Speedy, Safety Last, and The Cat's Paw. Also, The Sin of Harold Diddlebock)
5. Max Fleischer Popeye cartoons (being restored, legal troubles supposedly being ironed out)
6. Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (Criterion/Home Vision has DVD rights, I think)

Also, it's not a huge priority, but I'd love to see Un chien andalou released to DVD in a restored edition.

Joshua, Frogs is out on DVD.

My 6,(couldn't narrow it to 5), in no particular order:

Devils, The
Conformist, The
Nightmare Alley
Billy Budd
California Split
Lady in a Cage

I have around 500 titles on Laserdisc that are not out on DVD so I eliminated those titles for consideration.

Today, but not necessarily tomorrow...

Chariots of Fire: SE - waiting until next Oscar season for this one.
The Miracle of Morgan's Creek - When Paramount, when?
Le Samourai - After Anchor Bay's release of Un Flic I kept hoping that this would be on the way. Still waiting.
Bedazzled (1967) - Still can't believe that Fox didn't release this with the remake. Maybe some day.
99 River Street - One of the smaller noir gems that I hope eventually gets a release from MGM.

- Walter.
