I sure hope the DVD captures the beautiful cinematography of this film. I'll be getting this one for sure. Here are my thoughts on the film.

I am disappointed that there are only going to be English and French subtitles. CTHV is probably my favourite company because of the wide range of subtitles that they try to include. Many of their titles have upto 7 subtitled languages.
I see that the movie is only 89 minutes long so I don't think it was an issue with space. Considering that this is a foreign movie, I think having more subtitle options would have brought this movie to a greater audience.

Thanks for posting this, Ron.

Apart from anything else, this is one of the most gorgeous looking films (particularly the color in the main plotline, between the black and white bookends which are intentionally gritty).

An extremely charming love story, too. I highly recommend it.

It's just the sort of film we need right now.

Last thing on Earth I'll ever do is check out arthouse films...but damn if there are certain things in this universe that don't change my mind.

Brazil
- The whole controversy between Universal and Terry Gilliam got me interested in the first place. Checked it out on video and eventually got the DVD from Criterion.

Andrei Rublev
- I'm going to check this on out. Seems interesting though...

The Road Home
- IT'S GOT ZHANG ZIYI FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! I want to see this. Mmmmm, Zhang Ziyi...

"Stranger things have happened..." - Wes Deskins

Thanks for the bumps, cause I completely missed the boat on this one. Zhang Yimou is one of the most competent directors making films and I have yet to see a film of his I didn't enjoy. The Road Home never showed its face around here, so this will be a sight unseen purchase...but one I have no worries about enjoying.

Don't worry Edwin, I plan on at least renting it since I missed it's brief run in the theater here. I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time.

(BUMP )

Oh...sorry. Didn't see ya there. For those who may've missed this, go ahead and pick it up. At least rent it. Great movie.

Dome V: Ziyi is beautiful in this but you won't be able to lust after her in this - her character is so pure and unsullied but you'll simply look forward to when she'll come back on the screen.
