Question about Lone Ranger DVDs (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know if the Rhino releases are at the proper running time or are they the cut for syndication tapes? After what they did with the My Favorite Martian pilot, I don't trust them and I will not buy any of their product without information beforehand.

Mark, did you read their explanation for "My Favorite Martian"? That's all they had access to.

I've worked in the industry for 20 years and "all they had access to" is a relative term. Most syndicators, began to get away from sending out 16mm prints in the early 80s. Shows were transfered to tape and at that time the common running time in syndication was 46:30 for a one hour show and 22:15 for a half hour. Depending on the syndicator and the show, the episodes were either edited, time-sped or a combination of both. But many syndicators made 2 tape masters, one complete and unedited and the other one at the syndicated run time. So to say that a company does not have access, well maybe they don't know any better and they just ask for the show. Whoever they are getting it from perhaps sends them whatever they have easy access to. This does not mean the complete version isn't available. Maybe its not as easily obtained. Maybe, if it was never transfered to tape, they would have to go back to the film sources. But believe me, a big company could gain access to a complete copy of a show if they really want to.

Still, no answer to my question. Lone Ranger, complete or syndicated cut episodes?
