More Elizabeth Taylor - Ivanhoe and The VIP's (1 Viewer)

Warner Bros. assured me that more work from Dame Elizabeth Taylor would be on the way. The first being the much requested Ivanhoe and the second being The VIPs! Bring em on, Warner!

It would be great if they did an isolated track from the up and down music mix as the original raw music tracks are not know to exist.

I would love to see "A Date with Judy" released on dvd. I hope it's among the Liz Taylor's titles that are in restoration works.

Has anyone anything to say about THE DRIVER'S SEAT dvd?

I Love the Driver's Seat. It's bazaar, and I don't think most people would consider good in any way. I reccommend it for Taylorholics only. A fascinating Liz "performance," and a bit over the top (YAY).

The actual DVD I have is pretty crappy. It's full-screen, and the print looks , well, not so hot. The quality is pretty much like the old VHS tape I had. I don't know if this is a public domain film, but judging by the quality of the DVD, I'd say it is.

Anyway, happy aboout the new releases! I cross my fingers for the these:

• Zee and Co. (1972)

Well, Christoph, your wish list is remarkably similar to mine, I'm tired of my pan-and-scanned vids of your first three titles, and yes, I am a Taylor-holic. I'm holding out for whoever owns it (would it now be MGM) to release A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and for FOX to present us with THE BLUE BIRD, too.

Also, the edition released on September 28, 2004, is it also a full-frame feature?

Tony, I'm not sure about the 2004 release of Driver's seat being full or widescreen. I see on Amazon that it's put out by "Pro-Active Entertainment," and is only $4.99...it doesn't too look good that this release will be any better. I have the other edition put out by "Cheezy Flicks".

I'm glad you have an appreciation for the same Liz period as me, the late 60's – early 70s era.

I also love The Driver's Seat, which certainly is a public domain title. It's a camp classic, and I have never seen anything like it, which is probably a good thing! I am also a Taylor-holic. I have the current Russian DVD of The Blue Bird, but would love to see Fox issue their own DVD. While the Ruscico DVD isn't bad, I'm sure with restoration it could be infinitely better.

Every chance I get here I will mention that Warners should do a SE two disc treatment of Virginia Woolf...!

I would also love a SE 2-Disc for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Why doies the Virginia Woolf dvd use a "altered for tv" soundtrack - one example - when martha screams at George just as he opens the door for the guests, I think she now says "damn you " - in the original film she said "Screw you"
What gives?

I haven't noticed that, Joe, but it sounds like unrequired censorship on the newtworks part.

She had a cameo role. I'm a huge fan, so of course I want even the smallest role on DVD.
