Nip/Tuck in June! (1 Viewer)

A few hours ago we posted news that "Nip/Tuck" will be released in June.

I'm excited about this. I haven't seen an episode, but I've heard a LOT of good things about it.

I've only seen a couple episodes and I can't wait to get the set either. It will be nice to watch the whole season from start to finish.

You are truly in for a treat! The cast of the show are an absolute perfect fit for the storyline that develops over the course of the season. I think the best thing about the show is the writing...it's the type of work that any actor would find challenging, and these guys all pull it together fabulously...especially Dylan Walsh, Julian McMahon, and Joely Richardson.

As a bonus, it's great to see it's getting the type of packaging it deserves.

For any that haven't seen the show...this is a must must must blind purchase...easily the best new drama of its kind on television. Here's to hoping we get a good transfer!

Well, this IS Warner Bros. They've been doing some excellent work lately, and they're only getting better.

Everyone keeps saying "Fox is still the best", but I just don't see it. This is the year that Warner blows them out of the water, and it continues with what I'm sure will be a great presentation of Nip/Tuck on DVD.

Gord, you'll eat this up. I basically don't get around to watching TV until the shows themselves wind up on DVD. It's actually easier for me to do things this way. But FX played Nip/Tuck episodes enough for me to see most them. And I was glued to the set by the time the season finale rolled around. It's addictive in the way that "Six Feet Under" is, which happens to be the show I think it is most similar to (that I can think of right now, anyway).

I couldn't agree more, Dane. I think I started saying that Warner will own 2004 back in September, and I think they're proving me right.

Warner is doing an excellent job with releasing shows in 4 categories: new/old live-action and new/old animation. The best part is that they haven't had ANY failures! Every single set they've released has been followed up with another set, or will be. The only one close to being turfed was "La Femme Nikita" but season 2 will be out in July.

Warner is impressing me in the numebr of sets they're releasing, the quality of the sets and the prices they're selling them for.

Well, unfortunately I have to disagree with you, especially after shelling out money for Smallville Season One, a transfer that is a complete mess, and a real disappointment to a fan of the show, such as myself.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Saleswise, I think Gord means. I actually own Smallville and am quite happy with it. And season 2 is coming out in May, I believe.

Right, I meant sales-wise.

If you look at other companies like Columbia TriStar, and even Fox, they've had titles that haven't been followed up (Columbia more than anyone else).

I have been waiting for Columbia to release season 2 of Forever Knight, but hopefully the second set is better than the disappointing season 1 set( I have a review of season one at my site).

P.S. I can't wait for season 2 of Nip/Tuck on FX and season 1 on DVD.

David, I think Forever Knight sold poorly for them. They were expecting a far better response from the fans.

Gord, I think the problem with the sales might have something to do with how the set was put together (and that some sites like Amazon were incorrectly reporting all the episodes of season one were the cut US versions when there is only one edited episode). They have all the episodes uncut except for the first episode.

The quality of the episodes as presented on the first two discs left a little to be desired. I am glad Columbia did put season one out on DVD. I think they do need to release season 2 to DVD and include some extras with it (and improve the video quality of the episodes compared to how they were presented on the first season set). Columbia has done some great work with some of their DVDs and put together some great extras for some of their DVDs. I just hope season 2 and 3 do get released despite whatever the sales were for season one.
