"Complex problems sometimes have the simplest solutions."
You just gotta love Sherry this season.

Jack got another good kill today, and he tortured someone, that makes for a good episode.

Does anybody else find it odd that Michelle went into the basement to pursue a potential terrorist without backup? It was cool to see that she too can kick ass, but there should be a bit of realism. And shouldn't the first thing they told the hotel security staff to do was to shut down the ventilation system? It's an airborne virus, it doesn't make a lot of sense to keep systems running that help it.

On the plus side, nothing incredibly stupid from Chloe or Kim this week, and Nina is certainly dead.

And how the heck does the head of a hotel's security department know what the abreviation "CTU" stands for?

Does the March 30th deadline have anything to do with the bar fight Sutherland was in earlier in the year? I heard his face was scarred so badly that they had to shutdown production until he healed.

I think in this mythical world CTU is a known agency.

I thought the bar fight didn't affect the schedule, I thought they shot around it. They could be positioning the finale for May sweeps.

When was that? He was on Kilborn a month ago and he seemed fine(still wearing the same black shirt and black pants).

I only saw the last half of the episode, but it was pretty good.

Right; it probably has the same familiarity "Homeland Security" has in ours. Besides, it was just three years ago that their Los Angeles offices were bombed but they still tracked down a group of nuclear terrorists.

(And this is the sort of thing a security specialist for a large hotel in a large city would likely know, especially as this guy seemed professional, not some sort of rent-a-cop)

Pretty decent episode; I'm now more certain than ever that the fallout for next season is going to be severe, including Jack Bauer no longer being at CTU and David Palmer no longer being President. There's too much stuck to them for me to see them hang on to their jobs.

I'd never thought of Michelle as even potentially good in the field, but it worked here, and the suggestion that it's someone familiar with Bauer implies, to me, that the people behind the virus are the same people who connected Nina to the Drazens and were likely involved with the nuclear plot.

That month wait is going to be brutal, but at least it means we'll likely get Act III without interruption.

Nevermind... Looks like it's just standard sweeps shuffling.

Sutherland Injured in Bar Fight
(Friday, February 13 10:25 AM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Kiefer Sutherland, the star of FOX's "24," required several stitches this week after being involved in a bar fight.
Details are sketchy as to what set off the incident in a Los Angeles watering hole. According to several news reports, though, the end result was that Sutherland ended up needing stitches to close a cut on his face.

A representative for the actor tells the New York Post that Sutherland "was defending himself. He did get hurt and had six stitches done by his own doctor."

Sutherland was back at work on "24" by Wednesday, but his injury forced the show to rearrange its shooting schedule while the cut heals. He apologized to the cast and crew for the inconvenience.
The schedule changes won't cause any delays in getting episodes delivered to FOX on time.

Sutherland has earned Emmy nominations the past two years for playing driven counter-terrorism agent Jack Bauer on "24." He won a Golden Globe for the role in 2002.

Poor Guy-el! Though I'm hoping that if a dozen of these machines were stolen, maybe this first one is just a diversion of talcum powder.

The Palmer plot has worn out its welcome. I don't know who or what to root for, or why. It's fine to let the audience decide for itself how to view the shades of grey that are going on there - but frankly who cares enough to do so? 24 is meant to manipulate the audience, but in this plotline the producers are just letting the audience float around.

I had exactly the same thoughts about Michelle's heading for the service area where the technician had been seen.

(TURN OFF THE FAN BEFORE THE SHIT HITS IT YOU MORONS!!!)

Plus with Almador handcuffed she didn't work him for any info!?! He should be afraid for his life, and how he won't enjoy the $20-30 Millions he has earned in the previous 3 hours. :)

Gael should get the Presidential Medal of Honor, or whatever they give. (Tho as above, maybe its not the real virus, or why wouldn't Almador have started blubbering?)

Best Award for sheer childish soap opera evil - SHERRY. Maybe Sherry is actually working for the forces that want to bring Palmer down? For sure, her DNA is probably all over Milliken's death.

PS When they showed what happened previously, Nina's body didn't jump when Jack pumped her full of bullets - made me wonder if she was really dead, as someone suggested last week, but after last night, it looks like curtains for El Nina. :frowning:

Hiatus? Talk about Climax Interruptus :D

I'm not convinced that the virus was released. The unknown villain said he wanted to "send a message" and Alvers was perplexed by what he was doing. Certainly, by setting off a fake viral payload in a defenseless hotel, a message has been sent. He has also rid himself of Amador and Alvers (and the leaks and leads they represent), without losing a drop of virus.

Loved Michelle getting to kick some terror-ass.

Poor Gael.

What is with Chappelle's nose? It looks like someone hit it hard from left to right.

Still can't believe Alan's wife rolled on Sherry, but it'll make for delicious viewing to see how Sherry squirms her way out of it.

Chloe, such the stickler for protocols, and yet, just 5 hours ago she wanted a break for having to deal with Chase's baby.

Tony needs to learn how to say "love you, babe" to Michelle.

Any ideas on who this season's big bad is that knows Jack so well? Is it someone from our past as well? If so, who does that leave? Kate Warner could have a grudge against Jack for the split. It's a longshot villian. Naked lesbian Mandy might be the big bad, but we haven't seen her interact with Jack before, so if she is the unknown enemey, their interaction may have been offscreen. It could also be Sherry Palmer. That seems more of a writers way of tying the two stories together. Maybe even a long lost twin brother from the Drazens? Kim's one-legged boyfriend from season 2? Or maybe it's just someone new we never heard of, which is most likely.

For as much flack this season is getting, I think it has been structured very well. It began with us in the dark on certain things that Jack, Tony and Gael knew, then after that they were kept in the dark on Amador's doings. Now it looks like all hell is going to break loose. It doesn't look like there is going to be a set of episodes like the ones the first season after Jack's family is rescued and the second season after the bomb went off.

Can anyone say if we are getting a next season? Last year at this time, wasn't season 3 already confirmed? What have the ratings been like this season?

Overall, good episode. Things are starting to get dark, and that poor bastard Gael, uhgggh. Michelle looked pretty hot when she had her gun drawn on Alvers. Hopefully she'll have time to run down to the ground floor of the hotel and get a hazmat suit on before the virus particles get to her. Sherry's in a bit of trouble. It was pretty obvious that there was going to be enough evidence to suggest that someone else was in the house and that Julia Miliken was going to crack.

I thought Alvers was the guy that knew Jack? We saw the conversation where he knew about Jack Bauer being in Mexico and knew what went down. He was pissed at Amadour for doing that whole thing. Or did I miss a third person being in that conversation?

I think it is going to go a bit deeper than that. Remember when Jack talked to Tony and Jack mentioned that someone had it in for him and Tony order a slew of cross checks to figure out suspects? I think that later on there will be some kind of reveal. The spoiler I posted above would stand to reason, but like I said, I never confirmed it personally so it may not be true at all. I have also heard that on IMDB there is a cast listing for an unknown character. We'll see what happens.

That guy isn't Alvers. Alvers is the guy that Amador met up with in L.A. first and who then posed as the maintenance guy to place the virus in the hotel. He's currently cuffed to the pipes by Michelle. The guy who knows Jack (according to Amador) was the one who came in with the virus-delivery devices, acquired the vials and gave Amador the account number to transfer $10 million. He split before CTU busted in on Amador.

I don't know who this is, but could he be the guy that was on the yacht talking to Nina way back when (end of Season 2?) I forget what he looked like, or if we got a good look at him. But we haven't seen that guy interact with Jack.

EDIT: The guy's name on the show is "Stephen Saunders"; the actor is Paul Blackthorne:

You mean Naked Lesbian Mandy. Nina disappeared after the first few hours. Nina was talking to some German guy at the end of Season 1. I also forgot what the guy on the yacht looked like.
