I was on ebay checking out projection screens and came accross this insane ad... have you guys ever heard of the X7? it says for $10 it will convert any tv in to a 175" projection that you can project on the wall or a screen.... It is a crystal and it comes with a kit telling you how to build it? insane or what?

LOL. you mean the turn your TV upside down and put a big lens on it bs? Don't waste your time. If you want a big screen, buy a projector. They can be had quite cheap for entry digitals, or for a real used CRT, which is essentially the same (in theory, certainly not in performance) as the TV+fresnel, except designed for the task. So to answer your question, not it's not insane, but you'd be insane to think it would be worth the cost of throwing away the remnants of said "magic lens" after you paid god knows what in getting it shipped to you...
