I have purchased everthing I need for my girlfriends home theater rig except the receiver. The set up is as follows: room is 15' x 13' with a 16' vaulted ceiling. I have five Jamo E500 bookshelf speakers for LRC and SS
one Velodyne CHT8 for the sub.
The Jamo's are a very small 3.5" two way
but sound quite nice with a fabric dome tweeter, they are rated for 50 watts cont and will only play down to 120Hz.
The reason I wanted to choose between the 130 and the 501 would be price. $400 and under just fits the budget a little better. I wanted to purchase the unit at circuit city and the 130 is going for 399 and the 501 is going for 299. The main feature that apeals to me about each unit is the flexability in the adj crossover section, either unit would be a good fit for the Jamo and Velodyne combo because of this. This rig will be about 75 percent home theater and 25 percent music.
I really don't think the 6.1 feature is any advantage to me in this small of a room, I feel that 5.1 is just fine. The Onkyo is 65 watts per ch and the H/K is 45 watts. Which does'nt really matter to me either. So is the H/K worth the extra $100?
What do you guys think?
