Ok, I currently have:

Argonath
Smeagol

Frodo (bought at Sideshow/WETA for $100 2 weeks ago, and now he is sold out. I've seen him on ebay for $150-$250) Profit would be nice, but I'm keeping him.

Samwise and Bill the pony (had to resort to ebay; he's on the way!)

The following are ordered but currently on back-order:

Boromir
Escape off the road plaque

The following are pre-ordered:

Morgul Lord
Sauron
Eowyn
Balrog (new unlmited version)
Gandalf the White on Shadowfax

I MAY get the folloing as birthday/Christmas gifts this year from the family (if they can get them):

Gandalf the Grey
Merry (now sold out)
Saruman (now sold out)

I would love to get the King Elessar, but unless I get lucky and get one from the wait list (doubtful) I may have to bite the bullet and pay ebay prices like I did for Sam. May have to break down and do that for Gimli and Legolas (would be nice to have the entire Fellowship).

Maybe I'll get 2 of a couple of the new ROTK statues (like Morgul Lord, Sauron, etc...) and sell one at a profit to finance the other statues I want. I hate to have to do that (not in this for "speculation"), but that is capatalism at work.

For those who are not sure if they want to order any of the new ROTK statues before they see pictures or before they know if they can swing it financially:

My advice would be to just order it now. Don't make the mistake I made with King Elessar. You don't get charged until they ship, and you can always cancel an order if you don't like the picture when it becomes available.

It MAY be less likely for these to sell out as quickly as Elessar because Sideshow / Weta haven't decided on the edition sizes yet. But do you really want to take the chance and then wind up kicking yourself later?

Anyway, just my advice. Its free.

Nice collection, Chazz.

I agree with Sean...nothing to lose with these pre-orders! I just needed the extra kick in the arse to go ahead and pre-order Gandalf as well. Man, this is a freakin addiction. I just hope Eowyn, Sauron, and Gandalf w/ Shadowfx all aren't released in the same month! (they all say Sept/Oct).

Now I have pre-ordered:

Morgul Lord
Eowyn as Dernhelm
Sauron
Balrog
Gandalf with Shadowfax

Plus I can always cancel and give it to some other lucky schmuck if I am not where I expect to be financially at that time.

Now bring on the pics!!!

Amen guys, I'm now officially a dark-side convert. Nothing wrong with preorders (justification or not Posted Image).

I preordered Sauron earlier and I'll probably get around to the Balrog and something else soon. Gotta love this stuff.

BTW, great pics of your collection Chazz. My mini-Shards of Narsil will be here tomorrow, so I'll have to get around to taking pictures of my (limited) LOTR stuff.

If only sideshow realized the untapped resource they had in these forums. Shit if they gave us all 10% off coupons their sales would probably triple.

Don't even mention the word "coupon" Posted Image

What can I say...I'm hooked. Last week, 50 bucks looked like a lot...now my brain is telling me that 150 is a steal Posted Image

I may pre-order the Helm's Deep as well. It's pretty slick.

There is a coupon included with the bookends that gives you 15% off your next order. I called Sideshow, and they were able to apply it to my Witch-King/Eowyn pre-order, which was very much appreciated.

Unfortauntely, the coupon expired on 1/31/04, so unless they come out with another, there aren't any that I know about.

The code was HMBOOK, if you want to give Sideshow a call and see if they'll honor it for you.
Luckily, right at that moment, an unconscious Argentinean fell through my roof.

He was quickly joined by a dwarf dressed as a nun.

Yeah, I've joined the dark side.
Not even counting the 30+ Toybiz figures, I've got:
2 Nazgul swords
2 Sting(one on plaque, one in scabbard
Witchking
Glamdring
Narsil

Mini shards of Narsil w/statue

From Sideshow;

Galahdrim Archer
Argonath
Smeagol
Party bookends
Filmframe collectible

Preordered;

King Elessar(2)
Gandalf the Grey(2)
Balrog(1)
Morgul Lord(2)
Sauron(2)
Legolas(2)
Berserker(2)
Gandalf on Shadowfax(2)
Nazgul on Steed(2)
Eowyn as Dernhelm(2)

All the preorders, I'll keep one and sell the other. It's a great way to finance this addiction.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the pics.

If anyone is about to place an order, try the coupon "ROTKEA". I don't know when it expires but it can't hurt to try. (heck, even if you already have an order email em to ask if they can apply it)

Edit: Coupon is for 15% off btw

Let me know if it still works if you use it please!

Just out of curiosity, where did the ROTKEA coupon come from? Sounds like it's from a video game.

I did a search and found out all of these coupons are expired, save for the "WELCOME" one which is supposed to give you 5 bucks off your first purchase or something.

My mini-Shards of Narsil just got here. Wow! You guys were right, it's a really nice piece. Much better than I thought it would be considering the low price.

I highly recommend this to everyone.

That stinks about the coupons being expired.

I used the

welcome
friend
HMBOOK
ROTKEA

coupons. The 10 and 15% coupons were really kick-ass for expensive orders.

I know of people who saved HUNDREDS of dollars on orders using these.

I saved $90 on my purchase of Gandalf on Shadowfax (x2) with just one of those.

People have been hoping that new coupons would become available, but I think SC said no new ones for the forseeable future.

For new statues not yet announced, I'd like to see:

Sam carrying Frodo
Sam holding Frodo in his arms
The Eagles rescuing the hobbits
Aragorn and Arwen kissing on the bridge in Rivendel
The Ship at the Grey Havens

I know I'll think of more.

Grond being wielded by the trolls
Gollum with the RING at Mt. Doom
Pippin singing for Denethor (probably hard to capture right)

Does anyone have Aragorn's Elven knife? It is sure expensive, but it looks beautiful.

Grond would be amazing. Eagles are the ones I want the most. Rescuing Sam/Frodo would be ideal but I'd be happy with any sculpture.

I spoke with someone at Sideshow today, and was told about a few things coming up. Although I can't be specific, I think you'll all be impressed. All I can say is "Credit Card Meltdown"Posted Image Posted Image

Uh-oh Posted Image

I'd love to get my hands on the Eagles as well. That would be an instant-buy for me.

Here's a question, aside from the Shards of Narsil, does anyone else own any of the other UC Mini-Swords? I ask because if I'm spending this much on the Sideshow stuff, I definitely don't have enough money for the full blown UC Swords...but I'd still like to have them in some form. The great quality of the mini-Shards got me thinking about picking up some of the regular mini-swords.

TIA.

Well, Kami, the stuff is in prototype form, so decisions have not been made as to wether any will see production. Some of the pieces would probably be too delicate for production.
Just to tease you, let me say that this person does have the Weathertop that is shown in the "Gollum" DVD, and it looks really nice.
Also, I was told that the photos don't do the Morgul Lord justice. It must be seen to be believed.
