I guess the industry has tapped out all the possible ideas for cover art/posters for films. As I find more and more movies have Identical or similar covers.. for instance:

and

or

I know there are better examples, so if you can think of any more, please post them. This could become a funny thread.

I've always found it funny that M:I-2 and Minority Report look exactly the same. Especially with the same actor, and the fact that they sit side-by-side on my shelf.

I love these threads. there is one per year and I so hope studios notice them.

It's almost insulting to see hoe obvious the lack of originality is but most insulting is the obvious fact that many are hope to fool people into buying or renting the wrong movie by making the cover similar to another one.

shameful if you ask me...

does make make for a cool thread though Posted Image

so bring them on!

bring on Mimic and Phantoms... and all those obvious knock offs!!!

Poor Emilio Estevez

I know I saw a movie at Blockbuster with a cover that was a DIRECTED rip off of Goodfellas. Don't remember what it was called, tho I think somebody from Goodfellas was in it.

This is gonna bother me all day now.

Granted, the latter was clearly intended as a parody of the former.

(BTW, do movies GET any worse than Problem Child?)

I can't remember the name of it, but there's a direct-to-video flick that has a nearly identical cover to Ghost Ship's fairly creative ship/skull double-image.

Not only are the box cover images essentially the same, but the movies are pretty interchangeable as well.
