Hello everyone!

As many of you may now be aware, Sirius invited
me to their headquarters last Wednesday to meet with
their management team.

They were kind enough to let me fulfill a life-long
dream of mine -- they allowed me to host my own
3-hour show. I picked the entire playlist and was
very fortunate to have veteran stream jockey Elise
Brown (The Pulse) by my side handling the programming.

The segment is called SUBSCRIBER TAKEOVER and
it will be playing at 9pm ET Saturday, January 17. It
is scheduled to be repeated at 7am ET on Sunday,
January 18.

Now, I have two favors to ask of you guys....

First, listen! Do whatever it takes to be in front
of your Sirius tuner on Saturday or Sunday. I really
think you will enjoy the show that I put together
for all of you.

More importantly....

I want to do more of these shows for Sirius.
Getting into radio broadcasting has been a dream
of mine since I was a kid.

It's easy for me to think I'm comfortable enough
to do these kind of shows on a regular basis, but
the REAL test is what you, the listener think of
my show.

If you guys think my show and delivery sucks, I
want to know. However, if you guys feel that I have
the potential to be a Sirius stream jockey, I want
you to let Sirius radio know.

There is no job being offered to me. I'm a regular
guy like all of you hoping that audiance feedback
will be favorable enough to get that once-in-a-lifetime lucky break.

I ask for no favors here other than you listen and
let Sirius and I know what you think of the
show and my delivery.

I wish to thank all of you in advance.

Cool Ron! Will I be able to listen to it online, or do I need to be a subscriber? Congratulations again.:emoji_thumbsup:

Hey Cool. I'm not a sirius subscriber, but I'll have to check out the live internet stream while you're on.

While Sirius offers LIVE streaming through
the computer of their channels to subscribers, I am
not quite sure if people who are NOT subscribers will
hear current programming or sample feeds.

Perhaps other Sirius subscribers would know
the answer.

You'll be able to hear the current streams live, although if you're not a subscriber, you'll have to switch streams for a few seconds every 20 minutes, or you'll get cut off ;)

( www.sirius.com "Listen now" up top)

Ron will be on "Totally 70's", in the "Pop" section:emoji_thumbsup:

Wow. That is quite a change from your first article which was quite critical of Sirius. I think you did an excellent job on this article Ron, as you did with the first, even though it was higly critical. I am glad you got to experience your lifelong dream, and that you got to bring our converns to Sirius' attention. Hopefully your show will get some very positive reviews and you will be able to do a weekly show on Totally '70's. I can't wait to hear your show tomorow night.

Eh, Ron, you aren't a schmuck. I've never listened to any of the decades channels before to any extent, but listened some tonight while I dropped off/picked up the kids from PNO.. heard your comment and laughed. Hey, anytime I can flick over and hear the disco Beethoven's fifth and Sweet Home Alabama in the same block isn't bad ;)

Now I get to say I've had my brush with fame.. I remember when.. (and still have the posts preserved in WinD) Ron was just some guy posting on a small-Delphi board railing about how more people should enjoy the hobby :)

That was a great show Ron. I only was able to catch the third hour. But my foot was tapping the entire time. I heard a great mix of hip pop with some other hits thrown in. It was definitely some great feel good music, and I liked your comment. It was pretty funny, but I don't think you are a shmuck at all. If the first two hours of your show are as good as the last, which I am sure they were, then I will be happy to let Sirius know how well you did. I will listen to the show again tomorrow.

Sirius never sent me one.

They erased it a day after the show aired
after they promised to put together a
complete copy of it.

Though I am grateful for the opportunity,
they really botched up the entire experience.
They cared more about getting some good Press
out of it than properly taking care of the
individual this mattered to the most.

Not to say something good may possibly come
out of it all. Someone listened to my show,
liked what they heard, and as a result I am
cutting a demo for a local radio station over
the next week.

Congratulations Ron! Hopefully it will lead to something great. Sorry to hear about Sirius, thats too bad. I know I would have wanted a copy if I were in your position. Good luck with your demo.
