I just wanted to know if there is anything new about this dvd coming out next month.
Will it be a new transfer and any extras?. If not than I will just keep my Anchor Bay DVD.

Excellent! I didn't know this was being re-released! Hopefully it IS a new 16x9 transfer.

I just saw this DVD on the shelves of a store today (oops, early release), and the back just says widescreen. Does anyone know if this is an anamorphic widescreen from FOX? If so, I just may go back and pick this up.

Actually, the artwork lists it as a "Widescreen Presentation."

The Anchor Bay release also listed the film as a "Widescreen Presentation(1.85:1)."

Although the new TCFHE release has 5.1 Surround and Dolby Surround sound plus English subtitles and captions.

I got mine today and it says widescreen on the package in two different spots. I haven't tried it yet because I've got the old version and only bought it because I thought it was a 16x9 transfer. If it's not it's going back even if it is a cheapie.

Just popped mine in-it is indeed 2.35:1 anamorphic. And now, I do not have a player that aout scales, so this one is definitely anamorphic.

Weird thing is, the red warning screens are 4x3 with black pillarboxing! I've never seen that on a Fox dvd before.

I just checked mine tonight.

It is "Enhanced" for 16:9.

It is also 5.1 but it defaulted to 2.0 when I hit play.

Aspect ratio is 2.35:1.
My DVDs Yes, I really own'em all.

I can see where people are confused, though, since it doesn't specifically state that on the packaging. I picked it up last night, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

i got my copy today from the mailman and i also can confirm that it's anamorphic. there are 2 complains i have to make: first - the movie is encoded at 29,97fps interlaced and not 23,976fps progressiv
second - no theatrical trailer for the movie
well for 6,60 € i don't really wanna complain Posted Image

here is a bitrate snapshot from the fox dvd
