can someone tell me the technology behind this television? i know it says "lcd" on sony's site, but the cost seems to be much lower than all other high-def lcd's that i've seen. also, its much larger than any other lcd that i was aware of. is this the same lcd technology as, say, the sharp aquos lcd's, or a different type? thanks for your help, and i hope its not too foolish of a question.

It is a rear-pro LCD... Sony used to have an awesome demo of this TV on their website!

The rear projection LCD sets arent as small and light as the LCD sets you're thinking of but they're much lighter than the comparable CRT rear projection sets. I'm interested in this Sony set also as I've read alot of good things about it and I've seen a similar set at the store.
