Well I had planned on getting it from Amazon.ca, but as others have already found there's not much savings to be had, like there were for the first three sets. Guess it's gonna be Best Buy for me too.

Do they have the Widescreen versions of Full Metal Jacket and The Shining for this deal? I noticed that they both said fullscreen. Do they even make a widescreen for these movies?
...So I reached in the Miller cooler and grabbed a cool Bud.

Full Metal Jacket and The Shining are only available in fullscreen, which is the way Stanley Kubrick wanted them released.

Careful man, there's a beverage here!

While I didn't think Underworld was a good film, it'll make for a good bass demo DVD.

Mike Frezon is my new best friend! Posted Image

Guys and gals, here is the story: Saturday afternoon I experienced problems with my home computer relating to both Adware (spyware) and an attempt by one of those suckers to hit me with a Trojan virus (actually, a double attempt). Thanks to Norton and Ad-Aware, things were caught quickly and easily, and all was well, or so I thought. For several more hours I was able to internet with ease.

At some point I had to reboot due to system problems, and that's when things went to hell. I could boot up no prob, and do anything offline with no prob. I could connect to the internet with no prob...except that 100% of all sites I go to (via host name or even by the actual numeric address) result in DNS errors: "Page not found". E-mail similarly is broken. I can drop to a DOS prompt and ping an IP address over the net, and send and receive packets, though.

It's a fair guess that the adware and/or virus took out something vital that remained in memory until I rebooted. What it is, I don't know. I've tried everything I know how to do, including reinstalling several things, and my ISP's weekend helpdesk helped as much as they could. I'm going to call back later and speak to their specialist group for this type of situation (this group is only there on weekdays).

It's obvious to you guys by now that I'm posting from work. Well, I can check a few things here and there from work, but while I'm here I primarily have to, uh, work. I have NO idea when I'll be back online at home. I canNOT get e-mail at work from that Hotmail account I have listed; the corporate firewall has all Hotmail access blocked for security reasons. Almost all other forms of e-mail are also blocked to me at work, because I'd have to access them by a webmail page similar to Hotmail. So don't try to e-mail me, I'm unavailable that way for a while.

I won't be doing Weekly Roundup stuff obviously until I can get back up. I was actually contemplating taking some time off from it in any case. Mike did an OUTSTANDING job putting it together...I don't know what other titles might be coming out this week, so I can't say if he missed any. I'll look around later when I have time, and probably just mention titles but not prices. Today will be pretty busy for me at work anyway, and I doubt I have time to do TOO much here at the forum.

I hope I'll be back online at home tonight, IF my ISP's special guys can help get me back up with no real effort (yanking a needed .DLL out of a CAB file or something). But if it gets complicated, like needing to re-format my drive and all that crap, then it might take a few days to have enough time to do everything I gotta do.

In the meantime, I'll check in from work whenever I get a chance. Which is often enough, since my job requires me to wait on results of queries a lot.

Thanks again to Mr. Frezon for pitching in; a "vacation" is sorta cool. Mike, would you be willing to do the Roundup for the next 2-3 weeks? Posted Image I really am blown away by what you did...it's damn near perfect! I'm proud of you. The only thing you really missed, though is the markdowns at Videotropic. Here they are:

Probably just "Underworld" for me this week, if I get to the store. I've been very anti-shopping since Christmas has passed. Posted Image

While it wasn't as good of a deal as previously, $60 + shipping isn't bad, and I have it in my hands right now (and no floaters!) (Admins: I know I'm technically supposed to say where I got it early, but it is kinda a moot point for online vendors, particularly when they are trying to aim for the release day. If you have a problem with this, go ahead and edit this.) Jason
