Batman Beyond: what the ........? (1 Viewer)

With so many tv shows being released as season sets, why is Batman Beyond being released 2 episodes per disc? Who is the genius behind this? Do these people have a clue?

It's Warners. What did you expect? They have no respect for their properties, especially when it comes to animated television series. They just want to make a quick buck by porting old VHS releases to barebones DVDs.

Because they probably want to milk as much money as they can from the DVD releases.

At first they will release the whole show in volumes of 2 episoded per release, and then after sometime the box set will come which will be cheaper.

The same happened with the Farscape DVD releases.

Episodes from Toon Zone

What's more annoying is that all of the "School Dayz" episodes are already on DVD, yet Warner decided to re-release those episodes instead of the ones on the "Crush" VHS. "Crush" has three episodes that aren't on DVD yet -- "Rats", "Terry's Friend Dates a Robot", and "Once Burned". It's not the strongest collection by any stretch, but given the choice, I'd obviously prefer weaker unreleased episodes vs. a rehash.

The point was a comparison to the Farscape DVD situation -- where each DVD released had very few episodes -- and not that Warner was releasing Farscape.

As far as I'm concerned, every studo that releases a MAR'd release and not in OAR has NO RESPECT for thier properties, so that includes just about every one of them...

Is it a matter of respect? Or do they just have different priorities than we do. They certainly respect them as money makers.

This is probably a massive over-generalization. There are probably a lot of people that have a lot of respect for the properties. Just not everyone sees it the same way.

It seems like when studios are marketing for children, they package shows almost always as single dvds rather than box sets. Probably something having to do with how much they think a parent or relative is going to spend on a trip to the mall, etc. since kids don't have any money. There is a huge older market for this and Batman TAS that would pay for box sets with all episodes in order, it just seems that the studio doesn't see that and are marketing only to kids.

Perhaps they will eventually release a set, after leaking out these discs with a few episodes each. Like ADV does with the above-mentioned Farscape and their other live-action shows, which never made too much sense.

Hmmm...Amazon shows a list price of $12.98 on these. Not bad at all.

It's about time these came to DVD. Even though I'd prefer seasons like everyone else, it's better than nothing. WB is always going to be marketing these titles toward kids unless sales drop and a new target market is needed (such as collectors, which may happen if the outcry for seasons is loud enough, and WB sees more profit potential).

You are so right...
Warner should realize that there are plenty of ADULT collectors like myself who are fans of the genre and are willing to purchase this sets as soon as they are released.

Justice league,Batman:TAS,Batman Beyond,Superman:TAS and future titles like Teen Titans and future projects(HINT WARNER) like Shazam?...Justice socitiy?...Auqaman?...

Hope they get the hint...Until then I guess I'll start buying these disc when prices start dropping(That way the double dip wont be as bad);)
