long or short cables (1 Viewer)

I am building a home theatre in 20x12 room. I have a choice of where the rack of equipment will go and trying to figure out trade between costs and convenience. I can put rack on stage within feet of integrated 57" tv. Or I can put rack of equipment in back of room which will be about a 30 foot run after considering drops. What cables will be needed between tv and rack? Is it worth the extra money in cable costs to put rack in back of room? Actually, the back of room is my preferred location.

I have the same problem. I also want to have access to the rear of the rack and in my layout the back of the room allows me of install a door in the hallway outside of the room for access. This is more important to me. Changes of my equipment will continue for ever! Besides when you install the projector you will closer and save money on the DVI cable.
