1. View from Pompeys Head - great 1955 scope drama from Fox with Dana Wynter and Richard Egan- soundtrack CD came out a couple of years ago. This is based on a nove. and there are rights problems.
2. South Pacific - the uncut version - current film is missing 16 minutes.
3. That 70s Show - fell in love with this show when it went into syndication this past year - great show.
4. Prince of Foxes - 1949 Fox Film - tyrone Power film takes place in middle ages. Fox shot the entire movie on location in Italy. Fantastic film with great score by Alfred Newman. Shown on cable from old master made from bad 16mm print with terrible sound. Would love a restoration of this film.
5. The Warner Brothers Delmer Davis Soap operas - great series of glossy soapers made at Warners starting with A Summer Place and continuing with Susan Slade, Rome adventure
Parrish, Youngblood Hawke
6. Doris Day musicals - Warners has no interest in releasing anymore of these - they own allof them including Tea for two, On Moonlight Bay, By the lIght of the Silvery Moon, starlift (hasn't been on tv in thirty years),Lucky Me, lullaby of Broadway, Jumbo, Love Me or Leave Me
7. Fox fifties scope musicals - Mardi gras, April Love, Thebest Things in Life Are Free
8. Fox Susan Hayward movies - David and Bathsheba, Untamed, With a Song in my Heart, Soldier of Fortune, Garden of Evil
9. Some Disney live action films - toby Tyler, darby O Gill, In search of the Castaways, Summer Magic, Third Man on the Mountain, One and only Genuine Original Family Band
10. Warners spectacles - Helen of Toy is on the way, but no Silver Chalice, Land of the Pharoahs, king Richard and the Crusaders, Young Bess, Raintree County(in the uncut vesion showing on TCM), Ryans Daughter.

I agree. A lot of the selected titles will hit DVD at some point. For example, I have no idea why anyone would think there's no chance we'd EVER get an anamorphic Psycho and/or Vertigo.

And even some that sound like pure fantasy aren't. Just because Kubrick and Hitchcock are dead doesn't mean we can't get commentaries for their films - after all, there's a Walt Disney commentary on Snow White. Heck, I even think Song of the South will come out eventually...

Yeah, George, it would be great to see the additional
scenes put back into the Godfather films, and in
chronological order. I would double dip for that.

Hey Adam- I think #2-9 on your list will come true.
Lucas will milk his cash cow by releasing the versions
of the films that everybody wants after we buy the
versions we don't want (just a hunch). #1 on your
list should happen if he doesn't release the versions
of the films that the mass audience wants.

Thought of some more:

Fast-food and retail employee training films and videos.

Replica of the 1981 Sears Catalog Laserdisc that was sent out to registered player owners (most of them rotted from what I've heard)

Replicas of all direct-to-video (non-movie) MCA DiscoVision titles, complete with DVD-sized reprints of the boxes and jackets the discs came in, with DiscoVision labels printed on the discs.

"Listen": the 35mm theatrical Dolby Stereo demonstration film

1- Shatner's retooled version of Star Trek 5- The Final Frontier.

2- The Wizard of Speed and Time, in a final Director's Cut form.

3- The Magnificant Ambersons, fully restored. (Yeah right)

4- Supernova, restored Walter Hill Director's Cut. Would probably run slightly over 2 hours 10 minutes (45 minutes were cut).

5- Original cut of Eraserhead, with the 20+ lost minutes restored.

6- original 2.5 hour cut of THX-1138.

7- Wim Wender's Until the End of the World, 6 hour "Trilogy" version.

8- Alien 3, a new cut with Fincher's involvment, including new (though limited) reshoots and new ADR sessions for the cut scenes already put back into the film.

9- A super-special edition of THE BLACK HOLE, with the two known completed deleted scenes (Talk of Christmas, Collapsing Catwalk) available in the film via seemless branching.

10- A Richard Donner recut of Superman 2, with effects completed for the new scenes.

11- The Day After, Widescreen, Uncut.

12- (personal guilty wish)- Tron, with the two deleted scenes (Love Scene, Afterwards) restored, with new ADR from Boxleitner and score from Wendy Carlos to cover the missing audio. Those scenes should NEVER have been cut.
