That's it man. Game over, man! Game over! (quote from Aliens)

[c] [/c]

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definate price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a five-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart prices in the standard Roundup: Wal-Mart sets prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart location. When it comes to Wal-Mart prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Milage May Vary".

* Non-OAR discs are left off the Roundup, whenever they've been identified in advance. Examples: Real Men, Checking Out, Car 54 Where Are You?, Cops and Robbers, Livin' Large, & Once Upon A Crime. This does NOT apply to markdowns, which are simply cut-and-paste from other lists.

* Best Buy: Does NOT have any special deals (bonus discs, 2-for's, etc.) for Alien Quadrilogy. There have been rumors that there would be, so I thought I'd clear this up: there's not. Their package is the same as everyone else's.

* Best Buy: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Season 7 has a bonus disc with it on specially marked packages; limited supply available. Buy any 2 Seasons of Deep Space Nine and save $40. Buy 3, save $60. Buy 4 or more, save $100. Must be purchased on the same receipt.

* Best Buy: Save $15 when you purchase both available seasons of Alias at the same time.

* Best Buy: Pirates of the Caribbean is $15.99 by itself, but if purchased at the same time as ONE of the following titles, they become a 2-For-$25 package: Top Gun, Armageddon (barebone edition), Gone In 60 Seconds, Pearl Harbor (barebone edition), Black Hawk Down (barebone edition), Titans. Yeah, some of those "barebone" editions are pretty special compared to the rest...but none of them are the highest-end editions available, so that's really what I'm communicating to you here.

The latest markdowns according to DavisDVD:
-------------------------
EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 2, 2003

The Animal, Avenging Angelo, Casey's Shadow, Loose Cannons, Money Train, Panic Room, Single White Female, Year of the Gun $14.95

Lockdown, Tears of the Sun, Look Who's Talking Now, Look Who's Talking Too, Mo' Money, Postcards From the Edge, Running Free, XXX $19.95

I was in Sarasota visiting for Thanksgiving and the Walmart there had a sign about "Pirates of the Caribbean." If you buy the DVD Tuesday between midnight and six am, you get a special "gold coin" like in the movie, while supplies last.

Oof. DS9, Alias (both seasons - I held off on #1 because I knew Best Buy would have a deal on the combo), and Young Sherlock Holmes. As much as I enjoyed Pirates, I don't know as it was quite enough to get me to pull the trigger, though it would be other weeks. I will be very tempted by Ben Stiller, too.

Are you sure about $14.99 POTC at Target? The ad I saw didn't show a price for it. There was a $14.99 next to POTC, but it appeared to just refer to Ben Stiller.

Target lists no price for POTC on their website.

While there a good amount of stuff that comes out this week...too bad I not getting any of this yet. I might be able to get Pirate of Caribean this week, but the rest I will get later on. Alias will be bought in two weeks and I will just get the Aliens movies in the two disc form in January.

Damn! Is The Ben Stiller Show really only 15 bucks at Target? I cancelled my online preorder back when I found out I could get it for $20 at Worst Buy, so this is great news.

Reasonably sure, as I got this info from one of my "spies". Sometimes this persons info HAS turned out to be wrong, at least at my local Target. But it matters not to me...I got a $5-off coupon from Costco, good only at Costco, for PotC. So my PotC price is $13.79! The coupon can be found on stuff like The Recruit...which I snagged this weekend for $12.99 due to a coupon for it! :)

As for Ben Stiller, I'll get it for $14.24! Here are the prices at MY local Wal-Mart for this Tuesday (YMMV, not all items guarenteed to be in-stock):

__________TITLE___________Wal-Mart
Alias - Season 2__________$43.68

The Ben Stiller Show______$14.24
Hot Wheels: World Race____$13.20
Jamie Kennedy Exper. - S1_$28.48
Pirates of the Caribbean__$15.18
Star Trek: DS9 - Season 7_$94.98

Thanks, Dave. Never saw The Ben Stiller show, but I'm tempted to buy at the Target/Wal-Mart prices.

All in all, I know this a big week for some people, but I'm still spending all my money at DDD this week on older stuff I've been meaning to buy. You just can't beat their prices minus another 20 percent!

I know this thread is about B&M prices, but those DDD coupons will still be good on 12/3, so it makes it a lot easier to do the online shopping when the prices for some of the box sets there are as follows:

Alien Quadrilogy - $58.55
ST: DS9 season 7 - $76.80
JKX season 1 - $21.12
Alias season 2 - $36.29

FYI, the AQ set is advertised in today's Coconuts flyer (also, presumably, at Strawberries, FYE, and the other TWEC stores) at $74.99 plus a $15 mail-in rebate, which would make it $59.99 when (if?) you receive the money from the rebate. I personally would never get something there that needed a MIR for the sale price, but a head's up for those that do.

For me, just Ben Stiller this week - most likely a price match at BB if I can't get to Target on Tuesday. As much as I dislike BB, it's so convenient since I work in the same mall in which they're located.

I saw an ad for Strawberries, and they had the AQ for $74.99, but with a $15 mail-in rebate!

Thanks as always, Dave, for your work on this week in and week out!

Aliens Tetralogy:alien: for $64.99 is tempting, but I think I'll hold off and wait for Jan to get Alien and Aliens Hopefully for about $15 each (which makes me think: That's almost the price per movie for all four plus a 9th disc on Tuesday. Oh, what to do?!?! I guess I'll just have to think about it)

Ben Stiller show is a 2 disc with commentary for $15, will get that one!
