I hope Fox will release Julia in 2004 - one of Jane Jonda's greatest performances, and excellent performances from Vanessa Redgrave and Jason Robards as well. It's strange that they haven't brought this one out on DVD yet.

JUMPIN JACK FLASH (1985)

I'd like to see a special edition in anamorphic widescreen and remastered sound, plus commentary from Whoopi Goldberg, Penny Marshall and the cast, deleted scenes and outtakes, the Aretha Franklin/Keith Richards "Jumpin' Jack Flash" Music Video and anything else related to the production.

This is a true 80's classic that marked the directorial debut of Penny Marshall and the comedic debut of Whoopi Goldberg. Appearances from Jon Lovitz, Carol Kane, Tracey Ullman, Phil Hartman and Jonathan Pryce all make it even more memorable. This movie deserves a good release on DVD, not the poor quality laserdisc, VHS and DIVX(!) versions that all have serious flaws...at the very least, please release this film in a new anamorphic widescreen transfer!

I'll repeat my normal, frustrated refrain...

Has Fox released a single noir title to date on DVD? After nearly 7 years since the incept of DVD I'm amazed at this omission, considering the sheer number of noirs in the Fox vaults. Please begin releasing noir titles. ( Licensing Pickup on South Street to Criterion is a start. Please continue. )

- Walter.
