AIWA CDC-MP32 I want to move this deck. (1 Viewer)

I want to transfer this deck from my car to my wife's car. When I move it over the unit will not power up. Put the factory deck back in and it works. Put mp3 deck back in my car and it powers up.

We both have the same car. Dodge Neons.

I called AIWA and they wanted to blame the wiring harness.

I think there is some secret handshake or anti-theft measure working when I move it.

Anyone know how to move this deck? Any sites to get leads at?

I'd say it is a problem with the wiring harness. Are both of your cars the same year? It's possible that some of the pins on the harness changed from year to year.
When you plug the harness into the deck, does the drive make an eject type noise? That's usually a sign that everything is powered properly. If it doesn't do that then there's something wrong with the wiring.

Thanks Dave... Her car is one year younger than mine. When I connect it I get nothing.

I'll check the wires again to verify.
