I'm looking for a storage system that would let me store my DVD player, VCR, satellite receiver and other various "peripherals" on top of my big screen TV. We don't have the room for side storage cabinets. Could someone please suggest a system, supplier, or any ideas?

Well, there are several users here who built "Flexi" style racks that go over their RPTV. Basically, its a four leg rack with two really long legs on each side of the TV, and then a shelf or two above the TV. If you have the tools and are handy it's not a complicated project. As long as you have an inch or so on each side of the TV it should work.

Do a search for flexi or flexy. In short, a flexi rack is basically 3/4" threaded rod legs, with painted/stained/veneered shelves. Some users have put together some impressive looking units.

I built a small flexy (36" 5 shelves) for my equipment and it was the easiest project I ever got myself into. It mayy be the cheapest too ($50) It took less than three hours. I was in the same boat as you, no room near the RPTV for a rack. I put my flexy rack about 8 feet away. I only run video cables to the TV and use the AVR for switching. I bet it wouldn't be too difficult or expensive to build a flexy to go around and over your TV. Do a search w/the keyword "Flexy" or "Flexi". I got all the info I needed from this forum. At some point, when I'm not lazy, I'll actually post some pics on the forum.
