According to TV Shows On DVD, Warner will release the first season of Gilligan's Island on February 3, 2004.
Anyone besides me looking forward to that?

After a three-hour pleasure tour, the S.S. Minnow was washed ashore on an uncharted South Pacific island, leaving behind what would become TV's most famous castaways. Now join Gilligan, the Skipper too, and the rest for a 3 DVD tour of The Complete First Season. 916 minutes of black-and-white hilarity will be found over by the lagoon, and that's not all! The rare Pilot Episode is here, complete with commentary by creator Sherwood Schrwartz. Tropical Tidbits trivia, the Gilligan's Island Survial Guide, and a "Before The Three-Hour Tour" featurette round out the supplements.
Head over there to see the cover art, which is said to be preliminary (but looks pretty final - AND pretty darn good - to me). I think this will be a great package, and I'm very much looking forward to it.
BTW, TVShowsOnDVD will be down for a bit this morning. Today is our 2-year anniversary for the site. Gord is preparing a bit of a surprise, website-wise.

Please tell me these are double sided DVDs. There were 36 episodes in S1 and I'd hate to think that 12 episodes were crammed on a single side.

Warner has been a supporter of the DVD-18 (ER and the upcoming West Wing come to mind). Friends is the only 30-minute sitcom from Warner that springs to mind, and they use single-sided discs but only put about 6 episodes on each. My gut feeling is they'd switch to DVD-18's on Friends if they could get away with it, consistency-wise. But they can't.
I'm confident GI will be 3 DVD-18 discs with 6 episodes per side. And if this is the case, then I'm onboard for this 916-minute tour that will be a steal at about $30 in a discount store.
Hey, does it have that episode where the professor builds stuff out of coconuts?
That's a good episode. My personal favorite is the one where they almost get off the island, but Gilligan messes it up.
