Cancel the Super Bowl? That's like canceling Christmas! (quote from Black Sunday)

[c]Posted Image[/c]

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definate price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a five-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

* I'm taking a rather light week this week...that's why you got The Roundup at all. I suspect I'll be working "overtime" on next week's avalanche of stuff. So please, no crying or pouting if I left off one you're interested in today. Thanks.

* BE CAREFUL! The Matrix Reloaded is available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one.

* Circuit City: $3 instant savings with combined purchase of The Matrix Reloaded DVD & CD soundtrack.

* A few weeks back I mentioned that "Scene It!" (the DVD boardgame) was in Wal-Mart stores for under $40. I realized at the time that some of you avoid Wal-Mart like the plague, for various reasons. I don't agree, but in any case you might be happy to know that Circuit City is advertising it in their current in-store circular. It's on sale for $39.99 this week; afterward it goes up to $49.99.

* For quite some time The Ultimate Johnny Carson Collection has been available on DVD, but not in stores. It's finally hitting retail shelves this week, though. I highly recommend it as an enjoyable look back at Carson's fantastic and hilarious run on The Tonight Show. For details, read this review from a year ago (it's illustrated, too). And now it seems to include a bonus "Animal Hijinks" DVD as well...but I think maybe that's a bonus disc only at Best Buy. Very nice with or without; I highly recommend it.

The latest markdowns according to VideoTropics web site (DVD Title/Old SRP/New SRP):
• Billy Bathgate $19.99 $14.99
• Blue Planet: The Sea of Life Part 1 $19.98 $14.98

Those are terrible prices for the Carson set...Costco had it last week (but would not sell it to me)...for $39.99. It's a three-disc set in a longbox. Can't tell what the packaging inside is like...until Tuesday! - Steve

there seems to be a $5 auto coupon at bestbuy.com. looks like you have to sign out and then back in. you will either get a pop-up or it will be auto in your total once you try to check out. the coupon doesnt look like it has a minimum.

Nothing this week since I am waiting for the big Matrix set (plus I don't have the first movie yet anyway). By the way, how much is Golden Eye and Lion King, I going to pick these two up instead?
I need a new signature.

Reloaded only, and it seems like $14.99 is the baseline price for the Usual B&M Suspects...

Thank goodness there's only one or two releases a week that I want for the next six weeks - I need to save for holiday presents. Posted Image
