I just watched Coming to America yesterday, and something caught my attention during the credits:

Face on Cutting Room Floor ... Jim Abrahams

I assume Jim Abrahams the director - Does anyone know why this came to be - it must be some inside joke of some kind

Presumably he had a part in the movie, but it got cut.

Propably, Dan - It's a good guess - but would they have worded it like that if it were? Or even included him in a straight credits sequence? My guess is not, therefore I assume there is more going on here.
My best guess was Jim Abrahams cut John Landis out of one of his own movies, and Landis figured it was payback time now Posted Image

That was one of the most interesting films, I have to admit, not only for that but also for the fact that it's a "sequel" of sorts to Trading Places because of Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy's cameos as the now down-and-out Randolph and Mortimer Duke. A funny film all around!

"Attention all personnel. Tonight's movie is a holdover from last week and will be shown right after supper, which is also a holdover from last week."
