Where did you get your info? I had heard it was coming early next year. With this and the 5 and 1/2 hour Best Cage Matches 2 disc set, WWE is finally mining the vaults of all the assets of dead promotions they've acquired over the last 2-3 years.

Thi probably got it from this post at LordsOfPain.net...

[quote] Two WWE DVD’s are set to be on sale very soon. “WWE Bloodbath” will be a two-disc DVD featuring all of the most incredible cage matches from the past. This will be released on October 28th.

One month later, all Ric Flair fan’s will be able to get their hands on a special three-disc DVD, solely dedicated to the great man himself. Should be great. The date for it’s release is November 18th.

Where are all the early Wrestlemanias on DVD? They are really pushing Wrestlemania 20...you would think they would want to release the first 16 or so that never got a DVD release and have been out of print forever.

I think Bruno and Vince have been on the outs for decades now, so I doubt a Bruno DVD happens.

This is GREAT news! I love Ric Flair. I hope there is some of the recent stuff, his match against Triple H a couple months ago on RAW was great and I love all the dancing around that he's doing now. It just keeps getting funnier! Woooo!

Now let me get this right. Are these the COMPLETE UNCUT matches we're talking about here, with entrances and EVERYTHING?? I say this because too many tapes over the years with classic Flair matches are more like highlight reels intended to edit out the slower, more psychological parts of a match. If they are uncut, then this is a no-brainer... Also would love to see a wrestling channel especially featuring oldschool 80s NWA...

Ric, WWE has been very good about the maches on their DVDs being uncut with no edits, so no worries. It's their non-PPV event VHS tapes that are usually clipfests. Chuck, on the last investor conference call, Linda acted as though there were still leagl entanglements over old footage with the old logo, hence we will thnakfully be getting a bigger dose of NWA and WCW stuff than we probably would have otherwise. Vince and Linda have both said they are focusing on DVD and VOD with the tape libraries they've acquired recently. I don't think a wrestling channel will be a possibility until the next boom period, whenever that may be. One match I hope this set has is the 92' Rumble where Flair snagged his first modern era WWF title. Towards the end, an exasperated Bobby Heenan (on color duty, but also Flair's manager) literally starts pleading with God on air to let Flair win.

"where Flair snagged his first modern era WWF title"

One of the greatest wrestling moments EVER!!!!

Back in the old days it was a big deal becuase it made Flair only the second guy to hold both NWA and WWF titles. Although it would become alot more common to hold titles in both federations(WCW actually which some would say had nothing in common with the great NWA)this was a truly momumental moment for Flair fans.

To be honest, a 3-disc set wouldn't do Ric Flair justice. Now something closer to double that amount would be great, since he's definitely one of the all-time legends.

I wouldn't mind seeing something about the plane accident he was involved in back in the 1970's that nearly ended his career. That, to Flair, is a defining moment not just in his career but more importantly in his life.

Having one of the Flair-Windham matches included in the set is a good decision. I had the privilege of seeing Flair and Windham wrestle for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at WCW's first beach-themed PPV, Bash at the Beach (or Beach Blast), back in 1993, and that was a pretty solid match through and through during Flair's face run at the time. He won the WCW title for the 10th time at that match by putting the figure-four leglock on Windham clean in the middle of the ring, and Windham's shoulders went down for the 1-2-3 as a result. Afterwards there were reports that Flair was planning on hitting the town at the casinos with the ladies - only the "Nature Boy" could do that! Posted Image

The Flair/Sting match from the late 80's: is that the one that went 45-60 minutes live on TV and went to a draw? That was a solid back-and-forth match all the way through.

Now the Flair/Triple H match from a couple of months ago should be in there, because that was a solid match as well, and they should have also thrown in the post-match tribute to Flair. That was one moment that wasn't shown on TV that should have been, because it showed everyone paying their due respect to Flair, because he earned every bit of it.

For that matter, how about the time the 4 Horseman reformed in the late 90's with Flair, Anderson, Dean Malenko, and Chris Benoit? That was a great WCW moment that showed the 4 Horsemen shining at their best even in the reformation.

I hope the WWE gets to do a second Flair set down the road soon with more matches, off-screen moments, personal career history, etc.
