A buddy of mine built me 3 gorgeous stands for my center and surround speakers, and I need to get carpet spikes for them. I was hoping to find some simple plastic 1.5 inch spikes that I could put into the bottom to give them more balance. However looking at places like Parts Express, all they have are heavy duty metal spikes at $20 bucks a set. That seems way too much. Does anyone know of any alternatives? Would home depot carry something like this? Thanks in advance.

These are more than adequate. They are all I use actually and at $2.50 per pack more than reasonable.

Thank you both for the info. Darren, are those spikes only 3/8 inch long? The description on their site is vague and I need at least a 1.5 inch long spike. Troy, are they $1.05 each or 1.05 for a set of four?

The ones I have here at home are about 1" long not including the threads I believe. I'll have to take a look.
