I'm going to stop by CompUSA after hockey to see if they have that Display in stock for the PS2. I'm not sure which brand it is, but it might be worth giving a shot for $49.99.

Remember, if you're going to pick up Madden this week, you should be able to take your CC ad to Best Buy and get them to match the Gift Card offer, getting you the game for $40.

Well, I went to pick up the screen and found that it was $39.99 instead. :) No car AC adapter, but I'll give it a shot later and see how the quality is. One thing to note is that there were two different screens made by Hip Gear at the store. One was $119.99 and the other $39.99. The one that is $39.99 is in a yellow box.

Best Buy has Logitech wireless controllers for the Xbox or PS2 for $49.99. The Talk Net USB headset by Datel is $29.99.

my target has all games locked in a glass case.
somy question for those that keep finding such cheap games, are they on a special shelf? or do you just buy them and havee the surprise of a very low price.

Tony,

Basically, you just get lucky to see them there at a low price. At most Target stores that I've been to, there is a Clearance section to find games as well.

Good luck.

There's usually a shelf of unsold games that no longer fit inside the glass case, often mixed in with Greatest Hits titles. As Glen said, there is also a Clearance shelf and I found Mad Maestro stashed with the discounted PC games. I often know the price (thanks to Glen) better than the cashiers. "Price check in Electronics, please!"

Well, I'll hold out for ESPN. Not that Madden won't be a great game, but I want to play on-line. Even though I have all three systems, I always prefer the X-box version when a game comes two or three ways. Being on a home theater forum, you can understand why. Sorry EA, maybe next year...
IF YOU SUPPORT THE X-BOX!!!! There, I feel better.

Right on! I am also skipping Madden this year in favor of ESPN!! I have always liked the 2k series since I had my DC(Dreamcast) and thought it was time I give it another shot. If you are not interested in ESPN I suggest you check out this years NFL Fever. It also looks very good this year!

Brian,

As for the connections that it has, it has a Composite video, s-video, and the standard audio connections. I didn't notice anything about PAL support, but I will take a look later tonight when I get home.

It's a 5.4" screen, the display is pretty decent in my estimation. My wife and I put in Fifth Element to see how it could do with colors and it did a pretty decent job. Small text is a bit of a challenge to see, but I think for the price it's well worth having.

Here's the link off of the CompUSA site.

Also, here's the link off of the Hip Gear site

Ah, ta for the links. Does it take its power from the PS2 directly? Just trying to figure out if I could use it for other things.

[added] I see it comes with a AC adaptor, so that answers that question.

Yeah, I was bummed that I needed both the screen and the PS2 plugged in, but when my wife said it looked ok... I decided to keep it.

It could be used for other things, and I'm thinking about trying that out to see how things for the Gamecube and Xbox look on it... but I think I might just live with taking my PS2 on the road when I go out of town. :)

Huh... Can't believe I didn't notice this before but Final Fantasy X has hit $19.99. Looks like it's finally a Greatest Hits title.

Ok, I've also decided to add all prices below $19.99 to the price drops list when I see them. I have been selectively screening out certain titles, but I'll try to grab everything below $19.99 at this point. I won't put in every title at $19.99, because if I did that the PS2 list would be way too overwhelming to keep up with.

Talk at you all later,

Glen

I believe this went into effect today. I also read somewhere that Kingdom Hearts also received the GH treatment, so you may want to keep an eye on that as well.

Rumour has it that Dead Or Alive 3 for the Xbox is destined for a Platinum Hits price point come this Sunday, along with a handful of other titles.

P.S. Don't forget the $5 off coupon for Xbox Platinum Hits titles at Best Buy and, if you have one, your Rewards Zone card. :)

Hopefully the Tony Hawk 4 Platinum will actually be out soon. Most stores have the original run THPS4 for XBox already priced at $20, but have no stock on it as it was put out of print so they could run it as Platinum. I went to three different stores a few weeks ago trying to hunt down a copy, before I found a EB that had 2 left.
