Can't wait for this one! It'd better be decent. The Season 2 DVD was much better presenting the CGI than Season 1. I hope Season 3 is at least as good!

Now, do I skip straight to Severed Dreams and the season finale, or do I be good and watch from the start? :)

I'm getting excited too. I just finished watching season 3 on the Sci Fi Channel, but I'm ready to see it again in it's anamorphic widescreen glory.

I'm waiting till I get all 5 seasons then I'll be sitting down and watching all of them in a row. I did that when I had all the laserdiscs availible and with VHS filling in the gaps. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing it all again in 16x9.

I pre-ordered/charged it @ Suncoast for triple points, so I can get up and get it the day it comes out. This is one of the few things that I must have the day it comes out (the others being anything LOTR, and Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars anime). I only saw through the end of Season 2 (and I missed some in the middle) when it was on the local FOX TV station - I had to be up in the morning for High school. Hard to watch a show moved to 2am when you get up for school at 7am. :) Looking forward to some B5 I have never seen.

According to www.dvdpricesearch.com the lowest price is $57.50 at DVD Soon, but that assumes a free shipping offer that is scheduled to expires today extends to orders placed today but not shipping until August. So it's hard to say. The next lowest price is Playcentric's $65.47 (USD), which includes shipping. With the exchange rate, I'm paying about the same (maybe a little less) at Total Action Universe, another Canadian site, albeit one not surveyed by DVD Price Search. I'll have to wait a few extra days for the package to make it down to Florida, but that's OK. I've been waiting (and lobbying) for this show on DVD since 1998, so an extra week's wait for each season is no hardship. :)

Joe

I was thinking about ordering from amazon.ca. Their price is 82.18 CAD = $58.45 USD. And there is a $10 off $50 coupon code (CANADATELUSM). However, the last time I ordered from them (B5 Season 1), I had two floaters.

Amazon.ca raised their US shipping rates and even after the $10 coupon it costs >$60.

That said, I placed my order from DVDSoon, but they probably have the most ironic name in the business.

I'm not a big fan of Suncoast or anything , but release deals are OK. Suncoast sent out a coupon for next week for triple points (Aug 1 - 10th). Anyone with a replay card - preorder for $80, get $240 worth of GCs (about $12.50) - makes it effectively $68 + tax (approx. $72), provided you can find something reasonably priced to spend the GCs on (I buy anime, so that's not a problem for me). Plus, I can check it for floaters and ask for a different one if it has one. :) Just suggesting for those with a card.

That's a manufacturing/packing error and has nothing at all to do with the retailer. I went through five sets of S1 before I got one with only a single, unscratched floater, and that was at three different brick and mortar retailers. I wouldn't turn down a decent mail-order deal because of that concern, provided the dealer has a good exchange policy. Besides, my impression is that S2 had far fewer loose disc problems, so it seems WB is learning.

I've ordered the past two seasons from amazon.ca and have had no problems, so I went ahead and pre-ordered the third from them too.
