Too bad Fulci didn't live long enough to provide commentary but, beyond that, this is going to kick ass! :D

I'll believe the disc will kick ass as soon as online reviews are available to indicate that Shriek Show haven't goofed, glitched or screwed up yet another of their recent Eurohorror releases. The quality control on their titles over the past 12 months or so has been appalling. It's become almost comical - at least two pressings (a Jean Rollin title and one other) were defective and required Shriek Show to offer repressed discs (available only through their website, so you'll have to pick up a dud release online or from a store and then send it in for an exchange). More recently, WEREWOLF WOMAN was heavily overmatted (which drew an apologetic response from John Sirabella and the promise of another mooted exchange), and there were a number of other mistakes that should have been caught. Their early CANNIBAL GOD has a dud transfer, some copies of their recent widescreen EMANUELLE release only play in fullscreen on 4x3 monitors, MY DEAR KILLER has faulty menu screens on some extras and a mismatched opening reel... When Shriek Show release an error-free disc (such as WHAT HAVE THEY DONE WITH SOLANGE) the results can be very nice, but (like a number of other Eurohorror fans) I'm not going to buy another one of their titles until some online reviewers have checked it for glitches and errors - something which Shriek Show themselves maddeningly seem unable to do these days. It's a shame really, as I'd hate to see them screw up forthcoming releases like Fulci's LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN, the Rosalba Neri flick DEVIL'S WEDDING NIGHT, or the above ZOMBI 2.

Yep, Shriek Show just incorrectly framed HITCHER IN THE DARK as well. They screw up way too often, and really need to get their shit together. LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN, ZOMBI 2, as well as the upcoming KILLING BIRDS (which Shriek Show ridiculously added ZOMBI 5 to the title to cash in when it has no relation to that series) are all favorites, and if Shriek Show screws them up, expect me to be one ballistic horror fan!

Even if they do screw things up, at least they offer to exchange said discs. They could be making excuses rather than offerering replacements at their own expense.

A year and a half ago SS was my favorite studio but they are really falling hard. I've heard through various people that they simply don't care or they don't want to go the extra mile to get the stuff done right. It's a shame someone like Blue Underground or Synapse doesn't own these films.

I'll certainly be buying Fulci's ZOMBIE but I'll hold onto the AB disc for the commentary. Hopefully the SS disc will be totally uncut, which wasn't the case with the AB disc. Some of the nudity and gore is missing from the AB disc.

I'm also looking forward to SS's releases of the three Jess Franco titles including FACELESS.

On a related subject:
I've seen Zombi 3 and Zombi 4 in stores, and I was wondering if they are worth buying? I really enjoyed the original, so will I like these?

I'm too scared to watch ZOMBI 4 because part 3 is probably one of the worse zombie films I've ever seen. Partly directed by Fulci and partly directed by Bruno Mattei. Check out Mattei's HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD over these. This here is really bad but at least you'll have a good time with it.

Jess Franco's REVENGE IN THE HOUSE OF USHER at one time was called ZOMBI 5 on video, although there isn't even a zombie in it.

The IMDB time listing is from the Anchor Bay disc. In the trivia section they also claimed the disc was uncut but they later changed this to say scenes are missing.

These were in the theatrical cut of the film but these scenes were missing from the Jerry Gross cut of the film. They have appeared on American VHS (especially the full frontal shower scene) but for some reason the Roan LD didn't feature these scenes. This LD is what the AB disc was taken from.

I can't remember the company who released it on video but it was totally uncut and featured all the above scenes.

Nope.

Shriek Show "unannounced" everything on their Eurocult schedule, and will reannounce the new street dates only when the materials are ready to go.

They were having WAY too many quality control issues and decided to take things slower and get it right. They said they'll do no more than 2 titles a month.

No new street date for ZOMBI 2 has been announced.

You should be afraid, be very afraid, Zombie 4 is way worse than Zombie 3. Avoid if at all possible.

This has very little to do with zombies from what I gather. I just read a review of this and based on what the reviewer said, it is pretty bad. I really don't think I will be buying this one. I may rent it just to take a peek, but based on the quality of the last two, this movie can't be good.

People might enjoy KILLING BIRDS if they enjoyed D'Amaco's flicks like EROTIC NIGHTS OF THE LIVING DEAD and PORNO HOLOCAUST. Trashy, incredibly bad yet so bizarre that it's actually fun. Shriek Show will release EROTIC NIGHTS later this year in its uncut XXX glory.

The extras for ZOMBI 2 are still being worked on so it might take a while on this one.
