All well and good. But they promised us Bruce Wayne last year, too... I hope they can make it work.

Who is Morgan Edge? Is that an established character from the comics or a new one created for the TV series?

I don't read the comics but I can confirm that's where Edge is from.

Also, KryptonSite and FilmJerk.com are now reporting that

Perry White will be appearing in the fifth episode of S3, which is titled "Perry".

My comics knowledge is a little iffy, but as I recall Morgan Edge was a low level Metropolis crime lord in the comics. Hauer posted the following on his official site about his Smallville work:[quote] [quote]Also, KryptonSite is reporting that Perry White will show up in Smallville as an intrepid rising-star Daily Planet reporter. The episode, fittingly titled, "Perry" is being directed by Supergirl director Jeannot Szwarc.

IIRC, Morgan Edge was also the owner of the TV station where Clark was the anchor on the TV news show (I think WGBS-TV in Metropolis).

The season opens on Wednesday, Oct. 1 with the "Exile" episode. Smallville is moving from Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (ET) to Wednesdays at 8 p.m. for its third season.

The network has yet to release any details about "Exile" yet, but executive producer Al Gough has said that the third season picks up several weeks after the second season.

Also pictured above is the promotional image The WB is using for the third season with the tag, "He used to be the good guy."
