What is the latest scoop on Wonder Woman? Is there a site I can go to check this stuff out?

Last I heard Sandra Bullock is the front runner for the role and Srah Michelle Guellar is interested in the role.

Sandra Bullock is not interested anymore. Plus the fact she is 39. Not a good age to start a potential franchise. And with Sandra and Michelle. Neither has the assets for the role. ;)

Here is my choice..Victoria Silverstadt

Wonder Woman is supposed to be Greek, and even if the Swedish Victoria Silvstedt could do the accent, she could never look it.

Jennifer Garner could pass for Greek. But Victoria Silvstedt? Ehhh... No.

While it would be nice to get a Greek-looking actress for the role, I think it's ultimately more important to get someone who can manage an imposing screen presence and can fill out that costume. That list would be short enough as it is without worrying about ethnicity :)

Let me just say this:

Whoever plays Wonder Woman doesn't just need a great body and a large (but not inhumanly large), NATURAL rack. She needs to be able to actually act. After all, some of us (myself included) would be going to see it for a GOOD movie, not just to ogle T&A for 2 hours.

Personally, I have no idea who would work for the part. IMO, they should look for an unknown. I don't think casting a star is a good idea, and the mere idea someone had of casting a porn star like Victoria Silvstedt...let's not even go there.

Carrie Ann Moss doesn't look the part. I think SMG is way too short for the part. Also, whoever takes the roles needs to do some weight training. I would suggest casting someone who isn't already associated with a big action franchise as that will distract audiences.

Lucy Lawless would have made a nice WW, but that whole Xena persona is probably too tough to overcome in the public's perception.

If we're talking the Lucy Lawless of the time when she first played the Xena character in Hercules: the Legendary Journeys (this was way back in the early 1990's!), she would have been perfect for the role. I think she's too old to play Wonder Woman convincingly today.

Right now, we need a woman about 5' 10" to 6' tall, naturally black hair and southern European look. Looks like a casting call is in order! :)

More ideas:

One of the tough problems in casting WW is that the actress is going to have to be able to act, and perform action-oriented sequences to sell the audience on her super-human abilities/talents.

Gabriella Reece has the body/face for the part, and the athleticism, but could she act?

Brooke Burke has the body/face for the part, and it's iffy on the athleticism, but could she act?

Angelina Jolie could do the part, but she's already Lara Croft.

From a brunette actress "looks" perspective, I would not have minded Jennifer Connelly getting a shot 3-4 years ago, but I have no idea if she could have pulled off any of the action/stunts that might have been required.

Catherine Bell would not have had any problem filling out the WW costume. But could she do the action stuff?

Elizabeth Hurley is probably getting too old (if you're thinking sequels for a WW franchise).

Monice Bellucci also falls in the same category as Hurley, but she's got of that Euro look to her.

How about a dyed brunette Hudson Leick (Xena's Callisto). You know she can do the action bits, but she's now 34.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is also 34, but definitely looks the part, just slap on the tiara, and you're good to go.

Sela Ward is probably 15 years too late, but that would have been a little interesting.

Krista Allen could fill the costume, but not all that as an actress.

Laura Harring looks the part, but I have my doubts on the action side.

Harrison Ford was already franchised as Han Solo but that didn't stop him from starring in not one but two other franchises. Angelina could do it if she wants. And hey, she can keep the Lara Croft D-cup prosthetic!

How about Liv Tyler?

Indy started after Star Wars was done. I don't think people would have reacted as well if the series overlapped. I don't think Tomb Raider is over quite yet.

Ganrielle Reece is 33, probably a little too old to start and I'd say too tall at 6'3".

Corey Everson would have been good a while back, but at 44, is also too old to start.

Hudson Leick doesn't really look the part. Despite her considerable musculature, she comes off as emaciated.

Jennifer Garner might work, but I'm drawing a blank on workable people under 30.

My god ! Why am i the only 1 that mentions Shannon Elizabeth!!! She looks like wonder woman, not to mention a horrifying similarity to Linda Carter when she was young. For anyone who doesnt know Shannon is the girl from the american pie films who played Nadia.:)
