Fox Movie Channel's Gregory Peck Film Tribute (1 Viewer)

Fox Movie Channel is having a Gregory Peck film tribute next Saturday on June 28th. The following is the schedule show times for the seven films.

• 10:01 am ET. The Gunfighter (P/S) 1950
• 11:40 am ET. The Bravados (Lbx) 1958
• 1:31 pm ET. Night People (Lbx) 1954
• 3:31 pm ET. The Keys Of The Kingdom (P/S) 1945
• 6:01 pm ET. The Chairman (Lbx) 1969
• 8:01 pm ET. The Man In The Gray Flannel Suit (Lbx) 1956
• 11:01 pm ET. Twelve O'clock High (P/S) 1949

Odd that they wouldn't be showing their own Fox Classic "Gentlemen's Agreement", which I just happened to watch for the first time myself last week. The only one of the three Fox roles he was Oscar nominated for that they won't be showing.

Great flick and a terrific role for him, though I thought the first 15 minutes were clumsily written it really picks up. Not just Peck, but the supporting actors too are all great.

Oh well, buy the DVD and supplement this special Fox day.

And where's "Roman Holiday" on that list? And "To Kill a Mockingbird" especially??? You can't have a tribute without that one...strange...it's nice that they're doing something at least though...

Well I figured the non Fox titles were more understandably missing from a Fox Movie Channel tribute. But Gentlemen's Agreement is one of their crown jewels of Peck films, enough to be released as one of the first of the Fox Classics DVD series.

Mabye they figured that they would skip that one and show some others that weren't on a nice SE DVD yet. In fact, now that I look at it I don't think any of those are even on DVD at all except for a basic version of Twelve O'Clock High.

So it makes more sense now that FMC is trying to get some other classic Peck out to audiences instead of showing a film that they have already made available in a nice SE. That seems fan friendly to me and makes good business sense for them, generate some interest in the films they haven't put out yet for future possible sales.

Anyway, go Peck, he was awesome.

I don't believe Fox currently holds the rights to Gentlemen's Agreement, but I could be wrong.

You mean to show on television versus the DVD they just released?

I wish Fox would release The Gunfighter on DVD, a great western and one of Peck's best films.

The two I want to see most are P&S

Maybe, I'm reading you incorrectly, but both "The Gunfighter" and "Twelve O'Clock High" are being shown in their OAR.
