Some further markdowns spotted at TARGET last week:

PS2:
Dynasty Tactics - $20.98

Onimusha 2 (includes exclusive mini guide) - $13.48

Xbox:
Gunvalkyrie - $7.50

It appears that Xenosaga for the PS2

As for me, I'm going to be picking up Advance Wars 2 (probably price matched at Best Buy) as well as the GB Player.

I'm still debating Wario World... Just can't make up my mind.

Ok. Just found some coupons on Target's "Get into the Game site"

Here's the link.

$5 Coupons

They have $5 coupons for the following games.

Brute Force - Xbox
Def Jam Vendetta - PS2 and GC
Donkey Kong Country - GBA
NBA Street Vol 2 - All platforms
RTX Red Rock - PS2
Sonic Adventure DX - GC
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Xbox
Wario World - GC

If you can take advantage of price matching as well. You should be able to get NBA Street Vol 2 (PS2) for $34.99, and Donkey Kong Country for $22.99

Best Buy has Donkey Kong Country (GBA) for $24.99. Using a "Gamers Gift Card" will bring it down to $19.99.

Jason,

I think you mean "it would be tough for the sequel to disappoint."
I thought the same thing at first, but I now believe Glen said it correctly. I think because the 1st game was so good it would be hard for the sequal to seem like nothing more than a rehash to some people. From the few things I've read so far the game is very much just a crop of new challenges. That said, if you loved the first you'll still probably like the second, just don't expect any revelations. Bout right Glen??

Circuit City has NBA Street Vol. 2 for $40 this week.

Unfortunately for me, I got it there and when I opened it up, there was no game inside! My little brother has been bugging me to get it for him for awhile and I finally do and this happens.

The outside wrapper seemed fine. There was only one protective sticker on top. Not one on all other sides like some movies, or games have. Two of the three pronged disc holders were broken off, the pieces were not in the box. And no disc was to be found in the box. The instructions are in there.

So, has anyone ever had this happen before? Will this be a pain to get an exchange at Circuit City? Anyone have any advice?

Really wish I could find any copies of Mad Maestro and TimeSplitters 2 at the local Targets. Is anyone still offering the demo disc with the GameCube along with the new GBPlayer promotion? I'd really like to pick one up, but I still want to grab the demo disc for free. Thanks as always for the wrapup.

I think that the thing that we all should learn from this thread is that I shouldn't try to be use a thought that I believe to be clever at 7:30 in the morning.

:)

Frank,

I think you're going to be in a tough spot, but the best you can do is to be honest. You may actually want to contact EA as well, to see if they might be able to help you out in this instance. If you bought it today, call as soon as possible.

Good luck,

Glen

Glen,
first let me say that you do a great job!! I've been an avid reader of your thread every Sunday for quite some time. Thank you and keep it up!

My name is Roy, and here's my story:

Yesterday I decided to spend some time at my local Blockbuster with my 7-year old son "looking around" but I could not find a thing! On my way out he calls out to me, hey dad do you like this? It was Aggressive Inline-GC, I said, that's not bad! As I'm debating on whether to take it or not, he comes back out and says, Dad, I got this one for you, it was Metroid Prime-GC. I said NICE! Then he comes back AGAIN and asks me if he can get Tony Hawk 4 for the XBOX. I said SURE! Anyway, the best part of this was that MP and TH4 were $14.99 each and AI was free because of the Buy 2, Get 1 Free deal!! Total: $31.35!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSS! The moral of the story is, 4 eyes are ALWAYS better than 2.

Whatever, it was a great deal, in my opinion....! :) Thanks for listening!

Me happy!!

I'm going to have to take a look at the Blockbuster deals again. I haven't been all that happy with their stores in my area. Each time I've found a game that I wanted, they didn't have the manuals or the games were in very bad shape.

Oh well, that's the price to pay to get cheaper used games. :)

Looks like we could see some BB coupons this week in the mail...

Just letting people know if they might be looking to wait until pay day for a game or two...

When Metroid Prime was $11 in Blockbuster's last 25% off used sale, I couldn't find a copy with the instructions at any of my local Blockbusters.

HOWEVER, it's very easy to find complete game instructions/ strategy guides/ walkthroughs online that people with lots of free time have put together. I downloaded one of those and got my MP for $11, with not only everything from the actual instructions (except the graphics of course), but a complete strategy guide and list of secrets.

Note that I'm not talking about people ripping off commercially-available books; these are guides that people write up themselves.

Costco raised the price to $45.99. Edited.

I don't have any of these stores around here, so it's looking like I'll be going to Best Buy this week to pick it up if I can use a Gamer Gift card.

Where at Damien?

Thanks,

Glen

Edit: Looking at their preowned prices, looks like EB.

I'll add them to the list.

A few additions to the list.

Madden 2003 and Rogue Spear for the GBA at Best Buy.
Madden 2002 for the GC at Best Buy, how can you pass up $5 bucks for football.

Glen, are you sure the GB Player is 35 bucks at Costco? According to their website its $45. Of course no one picked up the phone at Costco when I tried to confirm the actual price. At any rate, thanks for your very helpful weekly price listings!
