I've been looking at their site and all I can say is wow so far. The biggest one that caught my eye was the Farscape Season 1 box set for 90 bucks. I was just curious if anyone could recommend them or tell me reasons not to order from them? Another point I should add is that I live in Canada.
Thanks
P.S. I wasn't quite sure were to post this, and if this is the wrong room then I apologize in advance.

I think this isn't the right forum, but either way...

DDD is very good. However, their free shipping takes (for me) over the highest number they give. So, they say it may take 14 days, and it usually takes 15 days (not counting Sundays). But, the $5 shipping is prompt, and it's flat. So, 1 DVD is $5 shipping, and 7 DVD's are $5 shipping, which is convenient if you're buying bulk, unlike other places. However, if you order multiple DVD's, and some of them are in stock, and one of them is a pre-order, they will be sent via the free shipping. Take that into consideration.

Returns are quick and there isn't a lot of hassle (like Buy). If you call them on the phone, they are pretty helpful.

Buy and DDD are the main retailers I use. I cringe everytime I have to use Amazon or BN because of their crazy prices.

I just looked and I have placed over 20 orders with them in the last year and I've only had one return (floating disc) they are cheap and efficient. Much better than most online retailers in my experience.

I use the free shiping option but I am only about 2 1/2 hours away from DDD's warehouse so it takes about 4 days for me to receive my order.

I've been very happy with DDD when I use an online etailer. I always take the free shipping, as I can wait and no sense offsetting the lower price by paying to ship when I don't have to. Shipments usually arrive pretty timely for me.

I've spent THOUSANDS at DDD, and made quite a few orders from DDCD... both excellent sites, and since they ship from IL, it only takes 2-3 days to get orders to me!

Well, I'm glad to hear good things about Deep Discount. In the past few days, I placed two large orders. My only complaint was that they do not describe the DVDs well enough or are not totally accurate. For example, with Iron Monkey, they list under language only English. However, I'm almost 100% sure that the version they have can be played in the original language with English subtitles. Customer service didn't know but are supposed to email me with an answer.

I will throw up my 2 thumbs up for DDD. I have had about 8 or so DVD's ordered through them and I love them. No probs whatsoever. Top class.

I think Lasersedge.com has the best website, so I usually do all my looking up and referencing on Lasersedge and then order from DDD. :) They usually end up being cheaper than ebay sometimes due to the free shipping.

DDD is awesome. Twin Peaks season one for 21 bucks. Need I say more? (that's a full 18.95 lower than MSRP and about 14 bucks cheaper than other etailers!). The free shipping isn't exactly speedy but the discs always arrive reasonably promptly and well packed.

DDD is the best online DVD retailer I've ever had experience with. I only had one bad experience with them which really wasn't that bad. They sent me T2:EE but when I opened it, it was severely scratched. So I returned it and they promptly exchanged it. The free shipping is a bit slow but look at it like this: It'll make you appreciate your title that much more when it finally arrives.

Unfortunately for me, DDD is the only online retailer I can really afford. I say unfortunately because their customer service sucks!! For every question I ask, I have 10 more after I receive a reply. Always vague... Anyway... just bought the Spy Game/Bourne Identity 2 - pack. Unfortunately both covers and cover art were badly damaged so I sent this email:

Unfortunately if the items were going to be returned then the entire package including the DVD and the case would need to be returned. The defectives items would be replaced with new items.
Man I wish all etailers were like Dv-Depot...

When I received my Simpsons Season 2 DVD's all of them were badly scratched. Thanks to the great guys over at Dv-Depot I only had to send the discs in return, not the cover. Plus! I got free shipping on my next purchase! How's that for costumer service! :emoji_thumbsup:

I ordered Rocky and Bullwinkle on 8/1, it was shipped 8/7 and (over a weekend, don't forget), it arrived today. That's better than usual, and really quite good. Only one data point, but maybe things are really humming now. They've been good about order acknowledgement and order numbers lately too.

I've placed dozens of orders from DDD over the years, and have been overall pleased with their performance. The free-shipping times vary quite a bit; I'm in Houston and I've had some DDD shipments reach me within one week, and others take over three weeks (I'm still waiting for Paper Moon, for example).

It's pretty much their prices that make it worth the wait.

Have used DDCD, too. To the "why buy music?" question, my own answer is simple: there are many obscure songs out there that you just can't find online.

I've bought a lot of DVD's from them and concur that their service is fine if you're not in any hurry. I've had mixed results on the transit time for the free shipping.

Right now an order I placed Tuesday is indicating that it will be shipped tomorrow (Friday) - not very speedy. On the one hand, I wonder if it will even be shipped then while on the other, their inquiry has on occasion indicated something hadn't shipped when in fact it had.

I've used them several times. Good prices (not always the lowest though). Shipping is indeed slow (but I knew that when I ordered). I don't have the need to be the first on my block to get something so I don't mind waiting.

It's kinda funny that even though I live within a 5-6 hour car drive from their fulfillment center, it still takes 7 business days for items to arrive.

For example, my pre-order of "A Mighty Wind" shipped on 9/16, but hasn't arrived as of 9/24's mail (it'll show up way past the release date). My other pre-orders took 7 business days to arrive and one didn't actually ship until the release date which could have been a distributor issue.

I'm going to have to be careful about what I pre-order by the way. Many B&M will beat on line prices for at least the first week on major titles. For example, even with sales tax, I could have saved close to $2 on "Wind" buying from Target or Best Buy.

They're good for free shipping, but not so much on pre-orders. I usually stick with DVD Empire for pre-orders, but DDD for existing or recently released DVDs. Never had a problem with them, customer service-wise, but their site doesn't seem to work too well with Mozilla/Firebird.
