I was able to catch a sneak of Hollywood Homicide. Not bad as buddy cop movies go, and certainly better than those we've been subjected to recently (such as Showtime and National Security).

Both Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett give a lot of effort to make this work. Both of the characters have comedic elements, which was good as I was worried Harrison Ford would only be the straight man. Harnett's actor angle didn't go off badly and Ford's real estate gag also worked.

The weakest part is, predictably, the plot. Its remarkably silly even for this kind of film and certainly couldn't hold my attention. Luckily they didn't dwell on it too much, but it did weaken the film. And for once, the buddy cop partners don't punch each other (although most every other cliche is present).

Also of note, I found this to be a very "strong" PG-13 movie, based on some bloody violence, sex, and a fair amount of cursing.

All in all, it isn't a bad way to enjoy two hours. I'd give it :star: :star: :star: out of four.

I have to give this movie 1/2* out of 5.

It was just terrible. Yes, the plot is weak and the performances, especially Harrison Ford, seemed forced. If this was supposed to be a comedy, there sure weren't any laughs in it.

I also must give this 1/2*....

HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE is a complete wasted 2 hours of your time....

There is zero chemistry between Ford and Hartnett. The plot is so badly conceived that it is completely uninteresting. This so called comedy is very weak on any laughs. Even the action is unexciting.

The addition of a few celeb cameo's, the film is just another front loaded summer flick to get the crowd's in early and grab the cash before the word of mouth gets out.

Ford needs a new agent!

The decent acting can't make up for the bad writing and editing that make this the worst movie I've seen in a long time. I have to disagree with Alex, I thought Showtime was better than this.

Not a great movie, but a very good one, if you go in with the right set of expectations. Even if you don't, the title sequence, which I loved, should be enough to let you know that nothing in this movie should be taken seriously -- certainly not the plot, which is just an excuse for a series of riffs and loving parodies on familiar motifs about Hollywood. Both Ford and Hartnett underplay, and to me that's a welcome change from films like Showtime, where the actors have to ramp up the volume because there's nothing else on display. They work well together from their opening, word-less scene at the firing range. I laughed repeatedly and out loud, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again on DVD.

This film was horrible and I left after the first hour. Ford's acting was so wooden I almost fell asleep. zero stars from me on this one...

I really enjoyed this film; the plot was weak yes, but the satirical qualities of it made it work. Ford and Hartnett are a perfect mismatch and they know it. Their acting was perfect, and it further heightened the satirical qualities of the film. Take, for example, the scene where Harrison walks in on Hartnett teaching yoga to about 20 girls. Hartnett then confronts Ford: (K.C. = hartnett, joe = ford)
K.C.: How'd you find me?
Joe: I'm psychic.
K.C.: Really?
Joe: No, not really. I'm a detective for Pete's sake!

What makes this great is Hartnetts delivery on the line "really?" It is so honestly stupid that it made me laugh hysterrically. A lesser film wouldn't even have recognized that Ford shouldn't know where Hartnett's character was, let alone poke fun at it.

Yeah....

I guess that the 2 being partners for 4 months, Hartnett would have to answer that question that way...

No chemistry.... Save your dollars.....

Okay, I checked this film out during one of the early shows today. In short, the film was okay for a buddy film and I laughed a few times throughout the film. If it comes on HBO I might watch it again but I won't spend anymore money like buying the dvd just to see this film again.

Nowhere near as bad as everyone is saying it is; while the film isn't perfect, its still a reasonable way to spend 2 hours with a date or friend. I laughed several times, and the audience seemed to enjoy it as well. Recommended - :emoji_thumbsup:

This movie was bad.

[sarcasm]Harrison riding the bike was a classic.[/sarcasm]:rolleyes

The hollywood-waste container scene? Jeez. Corn-ball city.

Also, I can't remember another movie that used gd and jc cuss words so often. It was distracting and happened often enough to offend some viewers.
