I've got several DVDs, namely the Hong Kong Legends versions of Project A, The Young Master, and The Killer, that I've been experiencing an unusual problem with in the picture in the main feature and/or special features. I've tested these in both my Panasonic and Pioneer DVD players, and both exhibit the same problems, so I suspect it must be a problem with the discs. When playing, there appears to be half a row of pixels along both black bars that are missing i.e. in the row of pixels, part of the row is black, and the rest of the row is part of the picture. Please check out the diagram below to see what I mean. ------------------------------ <- black bars ------------------------------ <- black bars --------------- <- missing/black pixels ----------- <- missing/black pixels ------------------------------ <- black bars ------------------------------ <- black bars Has anyone experienced this kind of problems with any DVDs? I'd never heard of this before I watched those DVDs for the first time a week ago.
