It's good to see that Star Trek and Antwone Fisher at the top of the list since they didn't really do well at the box office. It's even better to see widescreen kicking the crap out of foolscreen.

Antwone Fisher FS at 18....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

It's pretty cool to see tha the fullscreen version of Nemesis is nowhere to be seen on the chart-thought it was dumb to release two versions for that one.

With Antowne Fisher making more money in its home video release than its theatrical one, one has to wonder when we'll start seeing these types of films go direct-to-video.

Personally, I think it is a good idea. I've enough invested in my home theater that I generally only reserve going to the theater now for "event" movies, like X2 and Matrix Reloaded, but I am becoming even more selective still. I probably will not see Finding Nemo or The Hulk in the theaters. Still on the fence about T3.

Anyway, as home theater technology is simplified and costs come down, I think it'll be more and more likely that small-market films go direct-to-video. I think Hollywood will have to work a bit at removing the direct-to-video stigma though to make it work effectively.

I love my home theater, and everytime I see a movie at the theater, my first thought is, "Wow, I can't wait to get that on DVD." That being said, there is nothing like the movie theater experience. It's a magical place. I go there to enjoy a film. When I get it on DVD, I watch it to see the things I missed the first time and to see how it was made. DVD is also great for sharing a film you love with friends. There just isn't anything like seeing a movie for the first time at a theater.

But that's just me.
